How Do I Register & How Much Does it Cost?

Our MOPS group meets at Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge PA. You can come and check out a meeting before registering. Just contact our Coordinator, Sherri Smith (724.845.3377) beforehand so that we can make sure to have childcare available.

Playgroup/Summer Park Play dates are FREE and OPEN to all moms who would like to meet other moms in this special stage of life. We meet at the Oakmont Park select Wednesday mornings throughout the summer and at the homes of our members the 4th Wednesday of the month during the semester. You can contact Kim Vivirito (724.224.4967 or kvivirito@verizon.net) for more information.

Registration for the Fall semester is $35.00. $20.00 goes directly to MOPS International, which pays for your MOPS to Mom Connection magazine and the other part goes toward our local group for our crafts, events, hospitality, etc. Once your registration is processed with MOPS International, you will receive:

  • One-year subscription to MOMSense Magazine
  • MOM-E-Mail
  • Free Book The Mommy Diaries
  • A MOPS-to-Mom Connection Membership Card you can carry in your wallet, and entitles you to special discounts

Who can attend a MOPS group?

Mothers with at least one preschool aged child, from newborn through Kindergarten. Moms pregnant with their first child are welcome to attend MOPS. Moms with older children and one preschooler are also welcome to come to MOPS.

Do I have to join at the beginning of the year?

No. You are welcome to join anytime during the year.

I have an older child that I home school - can I bring him also?

Yes. Currently, we do not have any older children in our program but your older child is welcome to help out in the preschool room or work quietly in the meeting room.

My child threw up this morning, but I could really use a break. Can I still come?

Yes, you may come, but your child will need to stay home. We run a Well Child Program. If your baby or child has a cold or other illness, he/she will be more comfortable at home, and that would help us avoid passing the illness on to other children in the nursery or classroom.

    What about snow days?

We follow the Highlands Area School District for closures. So if the Highlands School District is delayed or closed, we will not be meeting that day and will resume our regular schedule at the next meeting. If you are a member of the group you will be called in the event of a cancellation.

I'm not sure this is for me, can I come and check it out without registering for a whole year?

Yes, just contact us and let us know you would like to come and visit as a one-time guest. We will let you know if we have space available in our childcare rooms. You may need to make other childcare arrangements if we are full.

My sister is visiting from out of town, can she come with me?

Yes, but you may need to make other childcare arrangements for that day. Just contact us and let us know you would like to come and visit as a one-time guest.

Are there ways that I can get involved?

Absolutely! We have many opportunities to get involved. Our creative activities, hospitality, and publicity can always use new energy and fresh ideas. Just let us know if you are willing to help serve. See our Steering Team page for a list of volunteer opportunities.
