Mr. Bernie Krokus, Community Health Specialist, represents the Tobacco Control and Prevention Program with the Allentown Health Bureau. The presentation includes all about cigarettes and the hazards of smoking. He will also speak to the hazards of second hand smoke. Interactive workshops before each event allow youngsters to dig deeper into the cultural, scientific and artistic elements of each show's theme. Scouts can even earn badges through these workshops! Click here to view the flyer of our next event, Book, Beast & Puppet from Mock Turtle, Sunday, April 20th at 2 PM. The flyer can be dispersed to all of your local councils, etc., right on down to the scouts themselves. It can be emailed or printed in whatever quantity you choose from Microsoft Word. For more information about the show, please click here. Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to working with you to bring the fine arts to Scouts! INTERPATROL COMPETITION
by Scoutmaster Frank Winger, Troop 439

The program kicks in starting in September. The boys have all had a chance to review the rules and have given nothing but positive responses.

This is adapted from my scouting days at Troop 10 in Scranton. The points values are assigned based on the goals of the troop. i.e. higher point values are assigned to those areas you want to emphasize. Many thanks goes to Troop 108 of Cradle of Liberty for their point assignments...made it much easier for me to put it all together.

The winning patrol flies the "Red Rooster" flag below their patrol flag. This provides them the privledges of victory; first pick of campsite, first picks of campout duties, two votes in the PLC, etc.

The points are compiled twice per scouting year by the Scoutmaster Corp. Passing of the Rooster occurs at the mid-year Court of Honor.

Click Here to view the summary point values. The actual points are calculated on a much bigger sheet for automatic summing of individual cells.

The whole premises of this is to get kids to compete at being good. The results are troop pride, troop excellence, and (hopefully) higher attendance/retention.
