Serving Active and Retired Federal Employees
in the Lebanon Valley.

NARFE was founded in 1921 by 14 federal employees. Back then as well as now, our purpose is to protect the earned retirement benefits of active federal employees, retirees, and their survivors. NARFE is the only association that is dedicated to protecting these benefits. In 2000 there were 400,000 members. NARFE has become an effective and a highly respected voice for federal workers and retirees on Capitol Hill.

Our local Chapter 458, Lebanon Valley, was chartered April 25, 1977; there were about 44 members. Today, we have more than 500 members in our chapter. Most of our member live in PA Congressional District 17, although we have a few who don't.

CHAPTER MEETINGS

Our chapter meets the third Monday of each month, at the Lebanon Senior Center, 7th & Maple Streets, Lebanon, PA 17046. Meetings begin promptly at 1:30 pm with chapter business, follwed by a guest speaker on topics of concern and interest to members. Speakers announced in advance so that members can plan to attend as desired. (See Calendar of Events) Meeting usually end by 3:00 pm when you can converse with fellow members while enjoying coffee and 'goodies'.

PLEASE NOTE: When the third Monday of the month is a Federal Holiday, meetings are moved to the following week. Please see our Calendar of Events in the left hand margin for additional information.

 
BECOME A MEMBER 

Chapter membership is open to civilians who are or will be elegible to receive an annuity or survivor annuity from the federal retirement programs of any agency of the United States Government, including:
* Retirees,
* Current employees,
* Spouses,
* Surviving spouses of those eligible to join NARFE,
* Former employees, and
* A former spouse who is legally entitled to a federal survivor annuity.

There are a number of ways to join NARFE. You can call toll free, 1-800-627-3394; attend a chapter meeting where application forms are always available (see calendar of events for location/date/time); join online at the NARFE HQ web site. To renew your memberhip call toll-free 1-800-456-8410.

 NARFE PAC
NARFE-PAC is our Political Action Committee (PAC). Created in 1982, NARFE-PAC is a separate, segregated fund that collects, administers and disburses the voluntary contributions of NARFE members to candidates for Congress on a bipartisan basis.

Like all federal PACs, NARFE-PAC was chartered in compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA), a post-Watergate reform to account for the growing sums of money in American elections. Throughout all its history, NARFE-PAC has complied with both the letter and the spirit of FECA and Federal Election Commission (FEC) regulations.
