Mission, History, Charter, Constitution, By-Laws NARFE is the only association dedicated to protecting the earned retirement benefits of federal employees, retireees and their survivors. Founded by 14 federal workers in 1921, NARFE has become an effective and highly respected legislative voice for federal workers and retirees. Membership has grown to nearly 400,000 federal, District of Columbia, and postal employees, retirees, spouses and survivors united to preserve the economic security and well-being of federal employees on the job and in retirement. NARFE is an organization governed by an elected leadership consisting of 1,560 chapters; 50 state federations, plus the District of Columbia, Panama, the Philippines and Puerto Rico. NARFE members represent a broad spectrum of government services. Most are covered by the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) or the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). Chapter 1465 was founded in 1976 with 67 members. |
