Where do YOU want to go for Summer Camp?

Troop 57's Patrol Leader Council (PLC) was stumped on where to go this year for summer camp. So, they are asking all scouts within the troop to think of ideas! Research any camps your are interested in, and create a presentation that you will present at the first scout meeting (September 6th, 2016). More information about the presentations is listed below:


  • All presentations must be researched about one (1) nationally recognized Boy Scouts of America Camp. For any questions concerning if a certain camp is recognized, contact Mr. Drews.
  • There will be only one (1) presentation per camp. The PLC is allowing there to be an option of presenting alone or with a group of people, therefore, groups must find time outside of regular troop meetings when you can work on your presentation with your group.
  • Presentation groups may present in any way possible. The PLC will be providing wireless connection (Wi-Fi) and a projector for any Microsoft Powerpoint or online presentation that might be used.
  • The presenting time range is only 5 - 10 minutes, so please present as much information as possible within the time limit.
  • Each presentation will have the availability to be asked 2-5 questions. It is highly advised that all presenters have fully researched and possess high amounts of knowledge from the camp to answer these questions correctly.
  • IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT A CAMP TO THE TROOP, email drewsrob@msn.com before September 5th with your name and the camp you will be presenting.
  • Here are some topics to include in your presentation:

    + Summer Camp name and location

    + Activities and things to do at camp

    + Price of camp

    + Unique features about the camp

 
Scoutmaster Welcome: 

Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 57ís Website and thanks for stopping by. Our Troop was founded on June 3, 1934. We are located in eastern Pennsylvania, in a suburban residential community in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County. Typically, Troop 57 averages 30-40 Scouts and about 10 scoutmasters, along with 5-10 committee members.

Since 1934, we are proud to have sent over 100 physically, mentally, and emotionally fit Eagle Scouts out to be leaders of the world!

We are chartered through the North Valley District of Minsi Trails Council which covers eastern PA and NJ. Our sponsoring churches are Neffs UCC and Schnecksville Union Lutheran Church. A private website at Shutterfly.com contains albums of Troop 57 pictures taken at Troop events and activities. Scouters may view, upload and order prints from this site.

Meeting Times:

Troop Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:45pm at our Scout Lodge in the woods on the church campus. It offers us the best of both worlds - a great indoor and out side meeting, training and camping facility. Typically we do not have a troop meeting the Tuesday after a camping/activity weekend.

We take a break from regular weekly meetings during the summer and start back up in early September.

Our 'Meeting Cancellation' Schedule is in line with Parkland School District.


Monthly Committee Meetings are typically the last Wednesday of the month 6:30PM at the Lodge.
