2008 Antique Rifle and Indian Artifact Show

Plans are becoming finalized for the 2008 show. This year we are again joining with the Jefferson County Historical Society for a dual event to be held on Saturday, August 16th at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds are are located on route 28 approximately 1 mile north of Exit 81 of Interstate. The show will run from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

In order to have more space available, each organization is now using separate - but adjoining buildings with both shows accessed for a single gate fee of $5.00 for adults over 16. Children under 16 are free. Last years attendance for the day was over 800 visitors. There will be food again available on location.

The archaeology show is continuing to maintain our past policy of exhibiting only and not selling authentic native American artifacts. Exhibitors are welcome however to sell reproductions, books or other items relating to the hobby. Individuals with other educational displays relating to the hobby are also welcome to set up.

Other activities throughout the day will include a sanctioned Atlatl throw headed by George Miller, and living history demonstrations by the Jefferson County Longrifles.

The doors will be open for set-up beginning at 7:00 am. There is of course NO set-up fee for the artifact show exhibitors.

Help us expand our show by setting up a display and also providing this information to any other individuals that may be interested in exhibiting a display of artifacts or early rifles. Questions or better directions? - please contact me at (814) 365-5563 or at kenburkett@comcast.net
