• Roundtable Information for Scouters:
   North Valley Roundtables are for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, and Venturing Leaders.
   Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of the month, 7:30 PM at the Washington Building, Northampton Area School District, 2389 Main Street.
   Typically, the Boy Scout and Venturing Scout Leaders meet in one room and the Cub Scout Leaders meet in a different room.
   Sometimes there are joint sessions.

• Scouting for Food:
   Saturday, November 7 (Door Hanger Distribution) and Saturday, November 14 (Food Pickup and Delivery)
   This year we will be using door hangers as opposed to plastic bags and flyers.
   All materials needed for the food drive will be distributed at the October Roundtable Meeting on Wednesday, October 14.
   If you are unable to attend, alternate arrangements will need to be made with Dennis Turick, our District’s Scouting for Food Chair at 610-767-6514.

• Message from Arby Beisel, North Valley District Director (7/30/09):
   Please join me in welcoming Dr. Robert Mauro as our newly-elected District Chairman.
   Before coming to North Valley, Dr. Mauro was Director of Carbon County Technical Institute, Superintendent of Panther Valley School District,
   and Assistant Director of Lehigh County Technical Institute.
   However, some of you may recognize Rob from his 5 years as Principal of Parkland High School.
   Dr. Mauro is a retired U.S. Navy Captain who served 27 years of both active and reservist duty.
   Rob is also the father of 3 boys, all having had a Scouting experience, with one achieving the rank of Eagle.
   Dr. Mauro will be formally introduced to leaders at a future Roundtable meeting – hopefully September 9th.

• Local Tour Permit Application is now Online:
   Tour Permits can be brought to the Council Office, faxed to 610-465-8579, or emailed to Bonnie Keller one week prior to your event.
   The Tour Permit can be filled out and saved online.

• New BSA Medical Form:
BSA has released a new medical form. This form, as well as the older Class 1 & 2, and Class 3 medicals, are approved for 2009. The new forms are mandatory after January 1, 2010. Please inform your parents, unit leaders and youth members of this change so that when they go for their sports, school, or annual physical, they can take the new forms with them. These new forms provide for audio-visual, medical care, and medical information release forms which are most important and therefore should be used as soon as possible to insure the utmost safety of our members if an emergency occurs.
