Scouting for Food
 

Thanks to all dens for getting their areas in! They are as follows:

Den 1 10th-13th Street
Den 2 7th-12th Center & North
Den 3 Lehigh & Pine Streets
Den 4 BC Lakes
Den 5 2nd -6th Center
Den 6 Glen Onoko
Den 7 Marty Axman
Den 10 Heights Section
Den 12 Church Road

Note to leaders: Please keep a list of the Scouts that attend the distribution day and the Pick up on the 11th and provide it to Margaret so they can earn a Scouting for Food Badge. A simple list on a piece of paper with the Den Number and Scouts Name is sufficient.

The Scouting for Food will now be more flexible for each den. We will no longer be meeting on that first Saturday in November to hand out the door hangers at a specific time in Jim Thorpe. Instead each Den will determine their own individual area and report it to Kathy Goldberg.

Each den will then go out and hang the hangers at a time that works well for them. Remember to allow people enough time to shop for us, but not so much that they forget about it completely.( usually a week)

Then we will all meet down at St Johnís on the second Saturday of November between 10:00 and 11:00 am with all the food that we have collected.

We will arrange to sort the food across the street in front of the food pantry to limit the amount of carrying. People who canít make it at that time should arrange to hand their food to someone who can.

Cub Scouting is open to boys in grades 1 - 5 who are ready to try exciting new things! Our schedule can be viewed by clicking on the calendar at the left.


Volunteer or we lock these kids up for good!

Weekly meetings are Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. at St. John's, North & Sixth Streets, Jim Thorpe, in the lower level meeting room.

 

Committee Meetings

The next Committee meeting will be held during the pack meeting and pool party at Panther Valley pool at 1pm on NOvember 5th. We are in need of 2 extra committee members to complete our charter.

Our schedule can be viewed using the calendar to the left. Clicking on the date of an event will give you more information. This schedule is tentative and events may be cancelled, added or re scheduled. Help is usually needed at all these events and we appreciate all those who have helped in the past. Your ideas and input for these events are always welcome. Please let us know what we can do to make them more enjoyable.

Our End of Year Trip is always a favorite of the boys. Past trips have included the Houdini Museum, Knoebels and Washington DC! We welcome any suggestions for a day trip this year as well.
