Welcome to the DRSFA's new website.
The purpose for which the Association has been organized is to protect the habitat of the American Shad which migrates to its spawning grounds in the Delaware River and its tributaries; to support the development of the Delaware River Basin in a manner which is compatible with its natural beauty; to encourage the harvesting of fish and game at such levels as will maintain a stable population; and any other lawful purpose under the Non-profit Corporation Law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. August 30,1979.
We are dedicated to preserving the Delaware River Watershed and the American shad.
WE STILL HAVE TABLES AVAILABLE FOR OUR FLEA MARKET ON MARCH 14, 2010. CALL (610) 791-0987 FOR INFORMATION.

WE WILL BE PROVIDING EQUIPMENT AND SHAD EGGS TO 15 EDUCATIONAL VENUES NEXT YEAR SO WE WILL NEED LOTS OF HELP. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU CAN HELP IN ANY WAY.
We will also review The Shad in Schools, Youth Fishing and Education Day
Please try to attend this meeting, it should be very interesting.

The DRSFA meets at 7:00 PM on the third Wednesday of each month except July, August, and December at the Sewyco Fire Company on Rt. 378 south of Bethlehem, PA. Email shadfisherman@aol.com for information or with any questions.
Shad In Schools Program - Involving students in shad restoration efforts and conservation in the Delaware River and its tributaries.
Youth Fishing Education Day - Was held June 20, 2009. Free program teaching youth about fishing and the environment. We had 90 youth this year in spite of the rain. They had a great time learning all about fishing.
Shad Transfer - In order to help shad get above dams and fish ladders on the Lehigh River we will transport spawning shad to areas above these obstacles.
