Welcome to Dings Wings Exotics Rescue website!
Having had birds on & off for 18+ years and being new to this area, we saw the need for rescue education here in the Pocono’s. We have done many adoptions, fosters and events in the NY area for different bird clubs since 1998. We are on the way to becoming 501C and are looking for volunteers in the area for education and fostering. Available presently by appointment for libraries, parties, boy scouts, girl scouts and churches, & also we will be at some local fairs. We also encourage joining local bird clubs for further education. We are currently in need of cages and bird toys of all types& sizes in relatively good shape. Are goal is to try to keep birds in their homes if possible. We have a dream of having a sanctuary/adoption center where groups can come to learn, play with, and help with socializing the birds to get them ready for there new adopted homes. I had to give up a bird at 1 time so I certainly am not here to judge if you decide not to keep your pet.We also will be taking in some exotics as well. Please do not even ask us to ship a pet. A home visit must be completed before an animal can be adopted out.
To adopt a pet from Dings Wings you must first fill out and complete an adoption form. You must consent to a home visit by a Dings Wings member. The birds will be adopted by the candidate best fitted for the bird. You must be at least 18 years of age and able to prove it. You must either have written permission from your landlord to keep parrots or be a homeowner. You will be required to sign a contract. Donations may vary
There are no charges to surrender a bird but it is suggested that if possible the animal comes with it's cage and toys. This will greatly help the bird adjust to it's new surroundings. Please fill out the reliquishment form the best you can as this will assist us in finding the best home for your bird. You can also email us @ dingswingspr@hotmail.com and put in the subject line relinquishment agreement. Or call 570/828/4160 between 10am and 8pm.
