WOCAV Board Minutes Tuesday, November 3, 2009
Called to order: 6:35pm by President George Schmader In attendance:

Minutes of previous meeting were approved as e-mailed
Treasurers report: $1647.73 - $40 = $ 1606.73(balance) Motion to approve-Layne, 2nd John D.
Old Business:
BMP Conference – Those going from WOCAV are:

Poster for BMP conference - Dennis is working on it. (He just called me about the pictures)
WOCAV signs- Changes were discussed and the changes will bring a redesign to the sign. George is doing the work and asked for suggestion. Hopefully every member will want one.
Oct meeting at Campbell’s featured" Cuttings as a propagation method for wildlife and aesthetics" Ty did a great job. They used, as a rooting medium ,water that had willow cutting soaked in it. Worked well. .
New business.
NRCS has increased funding for forestry programs from 5% to 10%. Announced a new program to match dollars for biomass.
Programs
January 14th. 2010 Dana Rizzo will discuss Private water & septic systems.
NOTE: A change, there will no longer be a charge or advanced reservations required for this meeting, it is open to the public.. The meeting will be at 7:00 pm at the Bureau of Forestry building in Clarion.
February 20th. Landowners Conference at St. Michael’s in Fryburg In conjunction with the CCFSC
March 18th. Dave Duncan will discuss Coyotes (registration & fee for non WOCAV member will be required.
April 10th - Deer Density Workshop, will be held at Clear Creek State Forest, - Dave Jackson will lead the program.
May - John Daugherty is working with the State Tree Farm winner from Venango County to conduct a Timber Stand Improvement session. WOCAV will help get ready for this statewide meeting. (Details yet to be worked out)
June 19th. Annual Picnic, Joe and Barb Lowrie hosts.
George is checking with O'Neil’s for catering of the food.
