Winter 2008 Newsletter

I hope everyone had a pleasant holiday!

2008 is here and it promises to be fun-filled and busy.

I already have several performances scheduled.<>
The Spikes are having a SpikesFest that will be held Saturday, February 9^th.

We have been asked to perform at State College’s First Thursday program held at the Library. 
This performance will be Thursday, March 6^th.  More information to follow.

We also have been asked to perform at the Nittany Lion Inn
for the Penn State Faculty Staff Club St. Patrick’s Day dance. 
This will be held on Friday, March 14^th.
 Callanish will be providing the music,
so we will also have a few rehearsals with them before this date.

I will have sign-ups for each of these performances.
 I will try to include as many students as possible in these performances.

I am also planning on having students perform at various assisted-living facilities for St. Patrick’s Day.

We had several performances this past fall.
 We performed at the Benner Township Fall Festival and the Boalsburg Heritage Festival.
 At this event, there was a news crew from Belgium filming a documentary to air this winter.

In addition to these competitions, Morgan Sugg participated in the New Jersey State Feis in Hamburg NJ in November; Teresa Donnellan participated in the Coyle School Feis in Norristown, PA in November.

Check the website for 2008 Feis information.  I have included any Feisanna within

4 ½ hours of State College.
