    Fundraising Changes for 2010


    Our Troop Committee has approved the 2010 budget and fundraising program necessary to meet our program expenses. The 2010 program is different than past years so we encourage you to download the summary and review the changes. We will be announcing dates of Troop Fundraisers and Scout Fundraisers as we finalize plans.

    Popcorn 2010

    We kicked off the annual popcorn sale at our meeting on August 30… If you weren’t able to make that meeting, please make sure you pick up your order form at our next meeting on September 13. Some new products to sell this year, new packaging, and even more popcorn for the prices. This sale benefits the scouts and all profits go to the scout accounts to be used for camping events and even equipment. 37% of the sale price goes to the scout which makes this one of our best fund raisers for the kids. Just as important, an additional 35% of the sale price benefits scouting here in the Lehigh Valley. Our council and district could not support the programs and camps that we enjoy each year without the help of this annual popcorn sale! Here are the key dates:

  • Sell Popcorn – NOW through November 1
  • Order Forms are Due – Monday, November 1 – do not collect money as you take orders
  • Popcorn Pickup – Saturday, November 20 at Jordan UCC (more on this later)
  • Deliver your Popcorn and collect money – November 21 through December 6
  • Money Due – Monday, December 6

    We are also conducting another popcorn sale at Cabelas. The date is Saturday, October 30 and we’re asking scouts to work shifts. This sale benefits our Troop account and will be used to help with general expenses and equipment. Part of your troop obligation is to participate in one our 2 troop sales so if you didn’t participate in the spring, make sure you sign up for this one to avoid the “non-participation fee”. Sign-up for the Cabelas sales will be done at troop meetings later in September.
