Backpacking on the AT
May 28-30, 2011 - The Troop 1600 Backpacking Crew completed a tough section of the Appalachian trail with highlights that included Bake Oven Knob and Lehigh Gap. The crew covered 18 miles and this was a great practice trip to prepare the crew for the long 50+ trip planned for later this summer. | |

Beaver Weekend at Camp Jordan
April 29-May 1, 2011 - Our first campout of 2011 and we used the time to get Camp Jordan ready for the upcoming summer season. Patrol method camping was taught to our newest scouts and we had some really great teamwork. The camp looks great and we have more than enough fire wood for the seasone! | |

French Creek Hike
March 19, 2011 - A great day for a hike! We took our newest Troop members on a hike at French Creek State Park. We hiked 5 miles around the park had lunch lakeside! What a great event to start the Spring season. | |

Memorial Lodge 2011
February 18-20, 2011 - A great winter camping weekend staying at Memorial Lodge in Camp Trexler. The cold and windy weekend didn't stop us from enjoying a great hike around camp followed by our fourth annual Iron Chef cooking competition. This year's event featured remarkable teamwork and skill making it really hard for the judges. Congratulations to all the teams - you did a super job and the food was awesome. January 14-16, 2011 - Another great Snowbound event. We had a great time completing the 10 stations this year and we entered 3 sleds in the competition. Some great new events this year - Tower of Babel, Toxic Waste, Panning for Gold and the Minefield! Temperatures dipped into the single digits on Friday night, but, we were prepared! | |

Overnight Canoe Trip
August 14-15 2010 - This trip featured 19 miles of great canoeing down the Delaware river and an overnight stay at the Valley View Campsite. The trip was awesome! In addition to a chance to test our Canoeing skills, we learned how to pack and prepare for a trip on the water. The Valley View campsite was right along the river and we got a chance to swim and explore. | |

2010 National Jamboree
July 24 - August 4, 2010 - Members of Troop 1600 were are part of the Minsi Trails Contingent that went to the 2010 National Jamboree in Fort AP Hill in Virginia. We were members of Jamboree Troop 211 in the Northeast Region. With over 40,000 participants this event was unbelievable! Rapelling, Shooting, Patch Trading, Exibits, Pioneering, Technology, and the list goes on! Prior to arriving at Fort AP Hill we got a chance to spend two days in Washingotn DC which was great. | |

Summer Camp 2010 - Camp Minsi
July 11-17, 2010 - We were back at Camp Minsi for summer camp and we had a really great time. The weather was great and so was this year's program. Troop members earned over 130 merit badges and we even finished 1st in the Camp Olympics. Our first year campers completed Trail to Adventure and completed many rank requirements. The waterfront was a popular place and we had troop members complete all the aquatics related merit badges this year! | |

Winter Camping - Memorial Lodge
February 26-28, 2010 - Our annual trip to Camp Trexler for a stay at Memorial Lodge... lots of sonw this year which added to the fun! We held our Iron Chef competition and the Troop cooking skills keep getting better each year - the food was terrific. | |

January 15-17, 2010 - Troop 1600 hosted the District Wide Snowbound event for the 3rd year. We had 4 sleds in compeition. | |

Summer Camp - Camp Minsi
July 12-18, 2009 - Another super year at Camp Minsi. Great weather, great program, great time! We earned more than 120 merit badges, completed Trail to Adventure, had a great representation on the Muck Hike and in Fridgid Froggy. We also had a couple of guys complete the mile swim. Lots of memories from this week! | |

Bike Trip
June 27, 2009 - What a great day for a ride! The troop completed a 20 mile ride on a Rail Trail. A great time was had by all - this trip helped several of the guys earn Cycling Merit Badge. Keep on pedalling! | |

Chill Weekend
June 19-21, 2009 - School's over so it is time to kick back and enjoy a weekend at Camp Jordan. No strict schedule... just some good camping, good food, and unfotunately a lot of rain! We had a great time despite the weather! | |

Klecknersville Camporee
May 29-31, 2009 - Could there possibly be any more mud? Rain during the week prior to this event made this an interesting camping event with all the mud and soggy fields. We had a great time participating in this event and earned a second place award in the Obstacle Course. Everyone successfully got real wet! A very special Thank You to the Klecknersville Rangers for sponsoring this event for the past 20 years! | |

North Valley Spring Camporee
May 15-17, 2009 - Troop 1600 sponsored the Trebuchet event for the Spring Camporee and our two patrols both got trophies - great job. Lashing projects were a real challenge and we had a great time participating in this district wide event. | |

Beaver Weekend - at Camp Jordan!
May 1-3, 2009 - We had a great turnout for our first real campout of the year. The camp is ready and with all the work it looks like we have enough firewood for the next 10 years - at least! Great camping, good food, and a great time had by all! We have a really great resource in Camp Jordan! | |

10/20 Mile Hike - Lehigh Gorge
April 11, 2009 - YES! The weather cooperated and we have another 20 mile hike completed. We also had a number of scouts complete a 10 mile hike option which was great. Lots of fun, great views of the Lehigh Gorge, and some interesting souvenirs! Anyone not ready? HIKE ON! | |

Gateway to the Poconos Historic Hike
March 7, 2009 - Troop 1600 completed another one of the Minsi Trails Historic Hikes. This one took the crew from the streets of Stoudsburg all the way to Delaware Water Gap. We had a great day for a hike and got to see some interesting things along the way. Defintely learned about hking safely along some of those back roads! Great job to all that completed this hike! | |

Memorial Lodge - Camp Trexler
February 27 - March 1, 2009 - Our annual winter camping event and Iron Chef competition. This year we also had a very special treat and were able to use the Shotgun Range on Saturday morning. A great time and some really great shooting! The Iron Chef teams did an awesome job and the food was excellent! No snow for sledding this year, but a great time was had by all. |

Valley Forge Pilgrimage
February 14, 2009 - Participated in the annual Pigrimage event hosted by the Cradle of Liberty Council. This was the 98th annual event and we had a great time learning about the role of the French in the American Revolution. |

Snowbound 2009
January 9-10-11, 2009 - Troop 1600 hosted the annual Snowbound winter event for the North Valley District and for the first time in a very long time we had SNOW - and lots of it! Six new challenge stations including Black Powder, Coordination Skills, Balancing Act, Artic Rescue and more made for a great event overall. In total we had 33 sleds enter the event and a great time was had by all. It's amazing how much more fun this event is with Snow!

Schuylkill Trail
December 6, 2008 - We explored a new section of the Schuylkill Trail just north of Port Clinton. It was a cold and clear winter day - perfect for a hike. Great scenery and we completed 6 miles. We ended the trip with a visit to Cabelas for lunch and some serious shopping.

Serranova
November 14-16, 2008 - Adirondack camping is great! We hosted the Webelos scouts during this weekend and helped them all earn the Outdoorsman activity pin. A nature hike, knots, fire building and foil packs... it doesn't get much better than that! Another rainy weekend cut short by a severe storm warning.

Sunfish Pond
October 11-12, 2008 - Who says it always rains when we camp? We had a really great trip to Sunfish Pond and completed 11 miles of hiking and backpacking during our 2 day event. Great weather, beautiful scenery and some great trail food were highlights. Only complaint was that the squeeze cheese ran out half way down the mountain - we'll need to plan better next time!!!

Gettysburg
September 26-28, 2008 - Wet weekend but we made the most of it! We visited the brand new Visitors Center and the Eisenhower Farm. We completed the Gettysburg City Hike and a special Seminary Ridge Ghost tour. General Picketts Buffet for dinner was a welcome stop after those PB&J sandwiches we had while hiking. This years trip also included camping at McMillan Woods which is right along the battlefield near the confederate lines. A truely great trip!!!

North Valley Camporee - Jacobsburg
September 12-14, 2008 - Fun event camping with a colonial theme. Cooking with fires and dutch ovens, using our new candle lanterns, and learning about colonial times was really great.

Canoe Trip
August 9, 2008 - Great weather for our annual trip down the Delaware. We completed the 10 miles in a record time even with our extended lunch stop and one canoe that took the long way down the river. In addition to some great canoeing, we spotted two bald eagles flying along the river.

Philmont 2008
July 2008 - Four scouts from Troop 1600 were part of the 2008 Philmont contingent. The crew completed a strenuous 94 mile trek and got to experience some great programs at Philmont. Highlights included spar pole climbing, reaching the summit of Mount Baldy, a gold mine tour, rock climbing and rapelling, shot gun shooting, and horse back riding.

Summer Camp - Camp Minsi
July 13-19, 2008 - Another great year at Minsi... this camp is great! 24 scouts attended and 94 merit badges were earned. Other highlights included some great shooting sports, the muck hike and frigid froggy.

Klecknersville Camporee
May 30-June 1, 2008 - Great Weekend! Merit badges and really awesome challenge events really made for a super weekend. We took second place in the bucket brigade event and had two patrols advance into the semi final rounds of the fire hose challenge. Sunshine on Sunday allowed us to return with dry equipment for the first time this year which was a real bonus!

Jambo - Kutztown University
May 16-18, 2008 - Some more bad weather and boy were the camp sites tight! The events and activities on Saturday were super and we had a really great time.

Beaver Weekend - Camp Minsi
May 2-4, 2008 - Weather wasn't that great, but, we still had a great time and we helped get Camp Minsi ready for the upcoming season. We had two work crews - one working on the waterfront area and one setting up tents and cots. Our new scouts got there first chance to see the camp and were able to work on tot'n chip skills in the afternoon on Saturday.

Annual 20 Mile Hike
April 12, 2008 - We hiked the Lehigh Canal Path from Allentown to Freemansburg and back in a Troop record 7 hours and 20 minutes. We had a great hike and saw some interesting sights along the way. Ask anyone - those last 2 miles are really tough!
We also had a group of scouts complete a 10 mile hike following the basic same route turning back in Bethlehem.

Minsi Historic Hike - The Nazareth Trail - 10 Miles!
March 15, 2008 - Great day for a hike. We saw some interesting historic sights in Nazareth before taking to the road for a walk to Jacobsburg State Park. Once at Jacobsburg we hiked through the park and explored the area around the Bushkill Creek. Watch out for that road kill!

Camp Trexler - Memorial Lodge
February 22-24, 2008 - Snow on Friday made this trip a great success! We enjoyed a great day of sledding, fun on the orienteering course, and the first annual Troop 1600 Iron Chef cooking contest. Josh and Seth took home the top prize beating the Iron Chef. All teams did really well preparing a great variety of turkey dishes the scoring was very close. Who said we couldn't cook!

Valley Forge Pilgrimage
January 15, 2008 - This year marked the 95th anniversary of the longest running annual boy scout event in the nation. A cold clear day for the hike and the sessions were great. Highlights this year included learning about dueling, medicine during the Revolutionary War time, and actual demontations of muskets and a 12 pound artillery piece.

Snowbound 2008
January 11-13, 2008 - NO SNOW! But, we still had a great time with four sleds from Troop 1600 competing. All patrols did very well and we learned a great deal about teamwork. Looking forward to next year... could we please have some snow?

Serranova Adirondacks - Great Fall Camping
November 2-4, 2007 - We had a great weekend camping at Serranova - using the Adirondacks is always fun. Highlights for the weekend included hosting the Webelos Scouts from Pack 1600 and helping them complete their Outdoorsman pin; dutch oven lava brownies; and a super campfire.

Miracle League - Community Service
Summer/Fall 2007 - Troop 1600 members were helping "Angels" for the A's for the entire Miracle League 2007 Season. The Troop had a great time helping the A's players realize their dream to play baseball. This experience was so awesome that we're going to do it again next year! Hawk Mountain, PA - Hike and Bird Study
October 13, 2007 - Perfect day for a hike at Hawk Mountain. The Webelos scouts from Pack 1600 joined us for this event. We saw a number of different raptors from the North Lookout. We attended a live raptor presentation and got to see a Great Horned Owl and Red Tail Hawk up close. Climbing the rocks on the Escarpment Trail was really cool!

Gettysburg, PA - Battlefield Hike and Camp
September 28-30, 2007 - Great fall weekend for a camping trip - weather was perfect. We completed both battlefield hikes on Saturday - 12.5 miles in total. It was great to see the battlefield up close.

North Valley Hike-A-Ree in New York City - We Made it!
September 15, 2007 - We completed the NV District event and had a great time in the Big Apple. The day started out with a early morning train ride into New York. Our 12 mile hike took us past may memorable sites including Battery Park, the Fiancial District and Wall Street, China Town, The Empire State Building, and many other sites. Biggest challenge was finding that next bathroom!

Delaware River Canoe Trip - How Wet Can we Get?
August 12, 2007 - We completed the 10 mile trip from Bushkill to Smithfield Beach and had a great time. Stopped for lunch on an island along the way, did some swimming, and only had one over-turned canoe!

Summer Camp - Raven Knob Scout Reservation - Mt. Airy, NC
July 15-21, 2007 - The 473 mile drive to camp was a bit long, but, Camp Ravenknob was a lot of fun. We had 24 scouts attend and completed 110 Merit Bagdes during the week! Highlights of the trip include... to be continued...
