Historic Brookville's

Victorian Christmas 2008

December 4 through December 7

There’s so many things to see and do over Historic Brookville’s Victorian Christmas weekend celebration from Thursday, December 4 through Sunday, December 7! It’s like a scene out of a Charles Dickens’ novel as carolers and brass ensembles in Victorian garb stroll past the old storefronts decorated with garland and lights. The merriment of over a century ago is brought to the present for us to enjoy.

Watch people in Victorian clothing demonstrate the arts and crafts of the 1800’s in the Living Windows. Take in a short play, a doll show or see beautifully decorated trees at Christmas Tree Lane. There’s a railroad show, living history re-enactors and a miniature display. Warm up with great lunches at the Soup & Pie Luncheon and the Soup & Sandwich Sale. Go to a book and bake sale, a craft show, take a horse and buggy ride or learn how to make Victorian wreaths.

There’s Victorian Teas for children and the ladies too. The children will love to see Santa arrive and can follow him to the Children’s Shopping Mart. They will also enjoy the telling of Charles Dickens’ famous tale, “A Christmas Carol” and decorating a Christmas tree. Go on a walking tour, a Christmas House Tour and attend a Victorian Ball. There is a Live Nativity procession, an old fashioned Community Church Service with a Special Sunday morning church Presentation.

Join us to celebrate the grace and charm of Victorian times. You won’t want to miss a thing! Hope to see you there!
