Want dress up for the Victorian Ball or the Ladies Tea?

Although it's not necessary to dress up for any of the events, many people want to. Some enjoy coming to town dressed in Victorian clothing just to spend the day. Your can rent Victorian costumes for a small fee from the Jefferson County History Center at 276 Main Street in Brookville. Call 814-849-0077 for more information.

For the ladies, a long, plain colored skirt and lacy or high-necked blouse is often easy to come across. Top it off with an old vintage fir cape and you've got the basic look. For the gentlemen, a dark pants, a white or striped shirt with a vest will work well. Add a chain for a pocket watch, a bowler or top hat and dress shoes to complete the outfit. Some clothing items can be easily found in thrift shops. Check web site auctions such as eBay to find lots of options.
