The entire borough of Brookville will be transformed during the Brookville Victorian Celebration, with street musicians, living window displays, special programs and presentations.

Holiday Book and Bake Sale


During the Victorian Christmas Celebration, the Rebecca M Arthurs Memorial Library will be offering a select group of books and delicious baked goods for sale. Holiday shoppers can browse books and may buy a hot drink with a delicious treat to enjoy at the library or purchase baked goods to take home.

Books for sale will include Bestsellers, paperbacks, children's books, and some non-fiction. These books are gently used and would be appropriate to be given as gifts for Christmas. All items will be specially priced.

The sale will be held Fri., 12/5 - 11:30AM-8:00PM, Sat. 12/6 - 10:00AM-5:00PM, and Sun. 12/7 - 1:00-5:00PM. The money raised from the sale will be used to help the library's operating budget. Call 849-5512 for further details.

Christmas Tree Lane


Take a stroll down Christmas Tree Lane! The annual event will be at the Jefferson County Court House in Brookville from Friday, December 5 through Sunday, December 7.

Over twenty-five beautifully decorated trees are featured in both the upstairs and downstairs hallways of the courthouse while groups of caroler sing outside on the main steps and violinists play familiar carols providing a festive atmosphere. All of the trees express the love, beauty and excitement of the holiday season. The various displays represent familiar and traditional themes including nature, family, looking into the future and holiday dreams, wishes and hopes. Ornaments are made by area residents, school students, church groups, scout troops, businesses and service organization. This event is sponsored by Historic Brookville, Inc. Open Friday 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. FOR YOUR ENJOYMENT - TREES WILL REMAIN UP TILL DECEMBER 28, you may visit the Court House during regular Court House hours.

ICE SCULPTING ~ OUTSIDE THE COURT HOUSE ~ NOON TO 3 P.M. The Indiana Culinary Center will turn blocks of ice into beautiful art forms.

"Mommy & Me Tea"


Celebrate the holiday season in true Victorian Style by attending the “Mommy and Me” Tea Party to be held on Sunday, December 7, at 3:00 p.m. at The Meeting Place.

Children ages three through kindergarten and their moms (or other adult)can play tea. Some tea party goodies will include assorted tea sandwiches, cookies, cakes, candies, cheese and crackers and hot chocolate. During the tea, children will be entertained with special entertainment and a visit by Santa Claus!

Tickets are $9.00 per person and are available Saturday, November 10 at The Meeting Place.

Victoian Christmas House Tour


Visit beautiful and unique homes that reflect the history and heritage of the Brookville community. These homes reflect the very finest of the 19th and early 20th century designs, and in many cases, are furnished with period pieces and family heirlooms.

The tour will be held Sunday, December 7 beginning at 4:00 p.m Tourists will be conveyed by bus and will be provided with light refreshments.

Tickets are $15.00 per person. Check for updates on this site or in our tabloid in the November 4th edition of the Tri-County Sunday newspaper on where and how tickets will be sold. This event is sponsored by Historic Brookville, Inc.
