Annual Banquet and Stewardship Awards This year’s Annual Banquet and Stewardship Awards presentation will be held at the Arena Restaurant on Tuesday, November 10 at 6 p.m. Our guest speaker will be Charlie Eichelberger, Herpetologist, who will talk about Bedford County’s Natural Heritage Inventory. Charlie joined the Pennsylvania Natural Heritage Program in 2005. He earned a B.A. in Zoology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and then worked as a contract biologist with the Wildlife Conservation Society, conducting herpetile surveys on National Park Service land in the Northeast for a number of years. He completed his M.S. degree in Biology from Shippensburg University where his research focused on habitat use of the federally threatened Bog Turtle (Glyptemys muhlenbergii). He is interested in all aspects of conservation biology. Charlie is a native Pennsylvanian and enjoys photographing the state’s biodiversity. He primarily works on the County Natural Heritage Inventories where he conducts site assessments, mapping, and report writing. He also serves as the co-chair of the Amphibian and Reptile Technical Committee of the Pennsylvania Biological Survey (PABS) and is a board member at large of the Pennsylvania Chapter of The Wildlife Society. ![]() adult red-spotted newt(Notophthalmus viridescens)(C. Rather than raise the cost to members, the board has agreed to make up the difference through WOSA’s treasury. We hope this encourages many members to attend. Members’ cost $15; non-members $20.
