Forest Stewardship Awards Each November at our annual banquet, WOSA recognizes landowners, forestry industry professionals, and individuals in government who have lent their expertise and assistance in promoting sound forest stewardship practices. The John Mash Award (Stewardship) is presented to a WOSA member for management to goals, environmental ethics and exemplary service and outreach to others. The Gifford Pinchot Award recognizes those in the forestry industry, such as consulting foresters, loggers, mill buyers, etc. The award is presented to an individual whose efforts are beyond the call of economics; who makes a difference in landowner forest management for sustainable forestry, and who volunteers his or her service to WOSA and its members through education and support. The Maurice Goddard Award cites Bureau of Forestry Service Foresters, legislators, Penn State Extension Foresters, etc. for leadership, legislative support, service to landowners, support and education, volunteer service to WOSA and his or her positive help to WOSA members in need. The awards are meritorious and highly valued. Finalists are carefully chosen by WOSA’s Awards Committee and confirmed by WOSA’s board of directors. ![]() 2005 Award Recipients Mike Wolf, Bill Bow, and John Herr
