2008 Workshops Sunday, May 4 Growing Mushrooms on Your Property with John Plitchke III Shawnee State Park About 60 mushroom lovers gathered to learn about mushroom cultivation. Participants drilled holes in oak logs, filled the holes with spawn, sealed them with wax and took the logs home. Placed in a shady spot, the logs should produce shiitake mushrooms next spring, and for the following six years. The event was co-sponsored by WOSA, the Western PA Mushroom Club, and the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture(PASA). ![]()
