HERE'S AN EASY WAY TO LEARN SONGS QUICKLY:

1. Learn any number of verses from any corrido (those fast-paced, short, call-and-response songs), say, twenty or so.

2. Learn the choruses listed here: Short Songs (.pdf) / Short Songs (.doc).

3. Repeat the the one-liners until you're tired.

4. Recite some verses.

5. Go back to the one-liners.

Everything in capoeira is very cyclical. If you are any good, you should be able to sing the same song for a LOOOONG time.

NOTE 1: Instead of learning new songs altogether, learn new lines/melodies to the ones you know.

NOTE 2: Want to learn a brand-new song? Just learn another chorus line and apply all the verses you know to it.

NOTE 3: Feeling constrained? Take the time to write a few verses yourself. Use them in every song.
