Scriptures of the Month ...
"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. Psalms 19::7-9 (KJV) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
To Think About: "Prayer is the voice of Faith."

WHERE CHANGE TAKES PLACE, FROM THE INSIDE OUT!
From the Pastor's Desk:
The year of 2009 is rapidly moving from the New Year toward Christmas. It is at the halfway mark and racing onward. Each day reminds us of the brevity of life and the need to prepare for eternity.
The highlight for the month of July is the Independence Day celebration. It is a time of cookouts, barbecues and much fun with family and friends. In the midst of a great economic and material decline, it is also a time when we should be giving God thanks for his many wonderful blessings. In a time of uncertainty and much confusion in our government and in our nations, we are still enjoying blessings that are sometimes beyond our understanding. As we look back on those who framed our Constitution, providing a basic document for a government of freedom for mankind, by the people and for the people, did so with the understanding that we would know the law and obey the laws. A constitution that provides a way for the advancement of anyone who will study, will work, will observe it and make right choices. The greatest freedom we have here in North America is our freedom of worship. In many parts of the world believers cannot assemble together; they cannot voice their convictions. They cannot talk openly about the one Holy God of the Bible. They cannot talk freely about his plan of redemption for the human race through, Jesus Christ, His Son. They cannot spread the good news of the glory of the cross. Just as the constitution is the highest law of the land, the word of God, the Bible, is the highest law of God. In it we find life, freedom, love, peace and joy. These things cannot be provided by our National Constitution. The world cannot provide us with peace, for it knows not peace. The world fights for peace, negotiates for peace, and even attempts to buy peace. The world cannot provide a peace that that will free the mind of guilt and rest the soul. Ultimate peace, ultimate freedom that will last is found in Constitution of Christianity, the Bible. “The Law of God is perfect.” If we follow it and observe it as it is written we will be successful. The constitution of Christianity is not for any private interpretation nor is the United States Constitution. Together they provide all that is needed for a bright future. Together they provide “Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness.”

The Battle Hymn of the Republic
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord: He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored; He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword: His truth is marching on. Chorus: Glory! Glory Hallelujah! Glory! Glory Hallelujah! Glory! Glory Hallelujah! His truth is marching on. Verse: I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps, They have builded Him and alter in the evening dews and damps; I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps: His day is marching on. Verse: I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel: "As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal; Let the Hero born of woman crush the serpent with his heel, Since God is marching on. Verse: He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgement seat: Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on. Verse: In the beauty of the lillies Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me: As he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free, While God is marching on.
    (Spoken Introduction:)
While the storm clouds gather far across the sea, Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free, Let us all be grateful for a land so fair, As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.
God bless America, land that I love Stand beside her and guide her Through the night with the light from above From the mountains To the prairies, To the ocean white with foam God bless America, My home sweet home.

    The Star Spangled Banner:
Francis Scott Key Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there. O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave? O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore dimly seen thro' the mists of the deep, Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam, In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream: 'T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion A home and a country should leave us no more? Their blood has wash'd out their foul footsteps' pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave: And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave. O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand, Between their lov'd homes and the war's desolation; Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us as a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust" And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
