Blythe Buddies
Calling all NEW PARENTS! Blythe buddies are people who have been at Blythe for several years and can assist you with questions you may have about the school. A Blythe Buddy is a person who will periodically call you and fill you in on what is happening at Blythe,ie. PTA Meetings, Book Fair, Blythe Blast...(You can also recieve these updates via e -mail by signing up for e-news)They are also there to answer any questions you may have through out the year. If you are new to Blythe and would like a Blythe Buddy, please contact Mlangston3388@charter.net
Math Superstars
Math Superstars Worksheets are a problem-solving math enrichment program to supplement Blythe's regular math curriculum. Math Superstars Worksheets are optional and do not affect your childs grade. They are designed to encourage critical thinking skills and provide samples of PACT questions
Your child will have an entire week to complete as much of the worksheet as she or he is able.Teachers and Parent volunteers work together to manage the program. Teachers distribute the worksheets. Parent volunteers grade the worksheets according to a formula based on several factors besides just a correct answer and update score folders and posters weekly.
The main goal of Math Superstars is to develop problem-solving skills. However, the program also encourages students toward self-motivation, responsible work habits and it provides students of all levels the opportunity to enjoy - and succeed - at "doing math for fun"
We Can Use Your Help! We need Parent volunteers and you don't have to be a math whiz! We'll provide an answer and scoring guide for each worksheet. To volunteer, or for more information send a note to your child's teacher or contact Jamie Owenby 897-2560
SEEDS Program
SEEDS volunteers enhance the effectiveness of Blythe's reading program by providing students with a variety of learning experiences. Additional volunteers are welcome! Please contact Debbie Duhon 236-0995 for more information
