Welcome VISN 7 Coastal NOVA Nurses
The intention of this site is to provide information for nurses; specifically nurses involved in VISN 7's coastal region NOVA {Nurse Organization of Veterans Affairs}. We strive to provide the latest information regarding our local NOVA chapter, opportunities for CEU's, pertinant legislation, and the latest evidence based research. Our ultimate goal is to improve communication among nurses; motivating and enabling VA nurses {and others} to deliver the highest quality nursing care possible.
Healthy Work Environments- we all need to be aware of these.
These are the six essential standards for establishing and sustaining healthy work environments, the attached file goes into great detail about the how and why of these standards: * Skilled Communication * True Collaboration * Effective Decision Making * Appropriate Staffing * Meaningful Recognition * Authentic Leadership

Travel Nursing in the VA
VA's New Travel Nurse Program -- To deal with a nationwide shortage of nurses and to improve the quality of care for veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has created a "Travel Nurse Corps" to enable VA nurses to travel and work throughout the Department's medical system.
