coaching-serv-photo.jpg            Welcome to the most effective personal and professional development organization in the world.

NOTE: New meeting location - TD Bank, 1501 Main St. (corner of Hampton) 3rd Floor Board Room, Columbia, SC 29201. Park in lot off Assembly at back of building.

We can help you achieve your personal and professional development goals in 2012. Being a member of Toastmasters is more than just showing up at meetings and giving a speech now and then. You’re part of a fun, supportive group of friends with common goals of self-development. And it’s not all about public speaking, either. Toastmasters is a place where you can hone your leadership and communication skills simultaneously, while joining a worldwide network of members who are doing the same thing you’re doing, one week at a time.

The educational program is the heart of every Toastmasters club. It provides members with a proven curriculum that develops communication and leadership skills one step at a time, with many opportunities for awards and recognition along the way. The communication and leadership tracks are not mutually exclusive; you may participate in both at the same time, if you wish.

• You progress along each track by working through a series of manuals, each of which offers a set of carefully crafted projects to complete.

• Each project includes an evaluation guide, which gives club members an easy way to provide immediate feedback as the project is completed.

• Once you become a member, you can begin the educational program right away.

If you have fallen in love with public speaking to the extent that you’d like to make it your profession, Toastmasters offers some extra help along that path. The Accredited Speaker program is designed to lend the full weight of the Toastmasters name to a chosen few – those speakers whose presentations have met the highest standards. Then, to help with speaking engagements, our District 58 has an organized speakers bureau. Both of these programs will endow a polished Toastmasters speaker with avenues for success.

First, to get started, visit our club meeting and learn more! See our calendar for meeting dates, times, and locations. Our club was the first Toastmasters club chartered in the Midlands of South Carolina, 58 years ago.

When are the meetings? We meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month, from 6:15 to 7:30 PM. Please check our calendar for more information.

The Tools You Use
Upon joining a Toastmasters club, each new member receives a variety of manuals and resources on speaking. Members also have access to other books as well as audio and video cassettes on speaking and leading. They also receive the award-winning "The Toastmaster", a monthly magazine that offers the latest insights on speaking and leadership techniques.
 What Does It Cost?
After paying the one-time New Member fee of $20, our dues are only $48 every 6 months. Depending on the month you join, dues are pro-rated.

Compare this to the average cost of a one-day communication seminar and you will agree Toastmasters training is a bargain!

Many companies pay all or a part of the dues as part of employee development. Ask at your company.
