We had an excellent meeting on November 8, 2011.

Maurice Walker, CC – called the meeting to order and gaveled in the meeting promptly at 6:15 p.m.

We had one guest, LaVerne Shuler, ACG, ALB, and she introduced herself.

We also inducted two new members into Columbia Toastmasters. Columbia Toastmasters welcomes two new members, Brett Pierce and Christina Costello.

Maurice Walker, CC did an excellent job serving as Toastmaster.

Rick Kirkland, ACS, ALB did a superb job on the Educational Minute.

Imelda Go, DTM did a fantastic job as Grammarian.

Charles P. Austin, Jr., ACS, CL did a masterful job performing duty serving as the Timer and the General Evaluator.

Christina Costello stepped right in and delivered a truly awesome icebreaker titled, “What is in that bag? She brought a bag of items which communicated these different experiences at Virginia Tech University.

Word for the Day: Impetuous (adj.) – impulsive, rash; sudden reckless. Used in a sentence: His impetuous nature has caused him to repeatedly get accidents over the past two years.

Thought for the day: “An education isn’t how much you have committed to memory, or how much you know. It’s able to differentiate between what you know and what you don’t." - Anatole France

Sincerely,

Charles P. Austin, Jr., ACS, CL
