We have changed our meeting days and times. We now meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. Check the calendar for the meeting room. Our time will be from 6:15 to 7:30 PM.

Do you have a desire to become a better communicator and/or a better leader? Michelangelo said, "The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." Aim high - join a Toastmasters club!

Good leaders are good communicators.

Leadership is the art of persuading others to do what you wish to be done. To do so, you need to communicate effectively and you need to work together as a team. Whatever goals you want to achieve in life, they will be realized more quickly and easily by improving your ability to lead. Your success in business is based on how effective you are. Through participation in the Toastmasters Communication and Leadership program, people from all backgrounds learn to effectively speak, conduct a meeting, manage a department or business, lead, delegate, and motivate.

Your best ideas deserve your best words.

By learning to effectively formulate, express, and sell your ideas to others, you open a whole new world of career possibilities. You’ll be more persuasive and confident when giving presentations. You’ll improve your one-on-one interactions with others. You’ll become a better negotiator. You will be better at motivating others.

How can you learn more effective communication and leadership skills?

Consider joining a Toastmasters club.

What Do We Do?

At Toastmasters, members learn by doing - speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. Each meeting gives everyone an opportunity to practice:

• Conducting meetings. Meetings usually include a short business session which helps members learn basic meeting procedures.

• Giving impromptu speeches. Members present one-to two-minute impromptu speeches on assigned topics.

• Presenting prepared speeches. Two or three members present speeches based on projects from the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Program manuals. Projects cover such topics as speech organization, use of the voice, language, gestures, and persuasion.

• Offering constructive evaluation. Every prepared speaker is assigned an evaluator who points out speech strengths and offers suggestions for improvement.

Walter Cronkite, noted journalist and newscaster, said: "It's natural to have butterflies - the secret is to get them to fly in formation."

The Tools You Use
Upon joining a Toastmasters club, each new member receives a variety of manuals and resources on speaking. Members also have access to other books as well as audio and video cassettes on speaking and leading. They also receive the award-winning "The Toastmaster", a monthly magazine that offers the latest insights on speaking and leadership techniques.
  What Does It Cost?
After paying the one-time New Member fee of $20, our dues are only $40 every 6 months. Depending on the month you join, dues are pro-rated.

Compare this to the average cost of a one-day communication seminar and you will agree Toastmasters training is a bargain!

Many companies pay all or a part of the dues as part of employee development. Ask at your company.
