Outreach Projects Our 2008 outreach project is making small decorative pillows to give to women and children coming into the Domestic Abuse Shelter run by the Pee Dee Coalition. We hope that this small gift will give them something they can call their own and let them know that someone cares. We've all been rummaging through our scraps of fabric, stitchery, trims, etc. and gathering supplies. On March 1, 2008 a group of us gathered to put the finishing touches on the first batch. 25 pillows were taken to the Pee Dee Coalition that week. Even more pillows are in progress in members' homes. ![]()

One of our favorite community projects is preparing toiletry bags for a local domestic abuse shelter. The bags are sewn by members and filled with a towel, washcloth, and basic toiletry items. These pretty bags are then distributed to women who come to the shelter in need of these items. In September of 2006 we prepared 29 bags that were donated to the Pee Dee Coalition. ![]() Hard at work.
