Laura Hester Named Insurance Professional of the Year for South Carolina

Laura Hester, ACS, a Market Research Analyst with Colonial Supplemental Insurance, recently was named Insurance Professional of the Year for the Insurance Professionals of the Midlands and Insurance Women of South Carolina, an affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Women (NAIW).

The Insurance Professional of the Year award recognizes excellence among those who have been employed in the insurance industry a minimum of ten years, according to NAIW, which sponsors the regional and national levels of the award. Among the criteria considered in conferring the award are the candidate’s participation in association activities, involvement in insurance industry education programs, industry experience and current professional capacity, activities undertaken in the community and response to an industry related essay question.

Laura will go on to compete at the regional level. The nine regional winners compete at the national level, with the National Insurance Professional of the Year awarded $1,000 at the NAIW National Convention held each June.

The National Association of Insurance Women is an association of nearly 13,000 insurance professionals dedicated to the development of leaders in the insurance industry. The national organization has 360 local affiliates throughout the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, with headquarters in Tulsa, Okla.
