I would like to welcome you and thank you for visiting the website of the Jamestown Road Church of God. We are striving to build/re-build families. God has an order for His church and the family is the key to that order. I believe that when we have strong families, then we can have a strong church and community.God has established principles for our lives through the written Word. Please come out and learn as we share together. We hope that you would consider becoming a part of this great church. Upward®
JAMESTOWN ROAD WELCOMES UPWARD SOCCER
The eight-game season will open Saturday, April 17, 2010 and run through Saturday, June 5, 2010. Players will also have a weekly one hour practice. All games and practices will be held at Jamestown Road Church of God located at 2671 Jamestown Road.
Player evaluations will be held February 27, March 6, March 13, March 20 and March 27, at the church. All children will need to be evaluated on one of the dates above between 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon.
Pre-registration is $50.00 if received by March 6. Registration received after this date is $55.00. Final registration deadline is March 27. Registration forms may also be requested by email by emailing us at soccer@ftc-i.net.

Overview
Upward Unlimited is an international non-profit children’s sports organization designed to give children and their families a positive sports experience. They do this by partnering with local churches to promote character and self-esteem of every child through Upward Basketball, Upward Cheerleading, Upward Soccer and Upward Flag Football.
The purpose of Upward Unlimited is to offer every child a fun, non-threatening environment where every participant gets equal playing time throughout the season. Upward Unlimited is committed to doing whatever it takes to recognize that “Every Child Is A Winner.”
Upward Unlimited started with Upward Basketball in 1995 by Founder and President, Caz McCaslin.
It is estimated that the 2009 season will bring more than 800,000 children and volunteers to participate in the Upward experience across the United States.
Upward partners with over 2,000 churches across more than 30 denominations including Assembly of God, Baptist, Christian Church, Community Church, Methodist, Nazarene/Lutheran and Presbyterian.
Upward is committed to providing first-class, organized, and detailed administrative tools, services, materials and support to its ministry partners.
Upward is conducted in 46 states across the country with the largest participation in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas.
Every child receives an award following each game to recognize a positive contribution he or she made that day. All children who participate also receive a special award at the end of the season during an awards ceremony.

OUR MISSION
The mission of Women of the Church of God is to extend the gospel of Jesus Christ, promote spiritual and personal growth, build friendship and inter- dependence, widen mental horizons and enlarge vision, encourage the stewardship of all of life, and support the united ministries and beliefs of the Church of God through gifts of finance and leadership.
WCG OBJECTIVES
1. To cooperate with the World Service agencies of the Church of God in helping them to promote the mission aspect of their work.
2. To encourage liberality and wisdom in the stewardship of prayer, of time, of personality, of ability, and of possessions.
3. To promote Christian understanding and fellowship.
4. To bring to bear on all human life the spirit and principles of Christ.
5. To aid each member in discovery and development of her unique gifts in the body.
