Our Trip To Washington, DC and Marine Corps Friday Evening Parade Members of our detachment made a road trip to Washington, DC in July. The main purpose of this trip was to attend the Friday Evening Parade at Marine Corps Barracks 8th and I. This is THE BEST show that I have ever seen - it gave me chills when they played taps at the end! In addition, we toured the high points of Washington - Arlington National Cemetary with the Iwo Jima Memorial, the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, the war monuments for WWII, Korea and the VietNam wall as well as the Smithsonian Museum and other local attractions. ![]() Silent Drill Platoon from the Friday Evening Parade See The Link On Our Homepage For More Information on 8th & I ![]() The Commandant's Own Drum & Bugle Corps at the Friday Evening Parade Below are pictures of the highlights of our recent trip to Washington, DC.
