A Toastmaster's Promise

Being a Toastmaster means more than simply making a commitment to self-development. Everyone who joins a Toastmasters Club is making a commitment to the Club, to its members, and to the organization as a whole.

As a member of Toastmasters International and my Club, I promise…

  • To attend Club meetings regularly;
  • To prepare all of my speeches to the best of my ability, basing them on projects in the Communication and Leadership Program manual or the Advanced Communication and Leadership Program manuals;
  • To prepare for and fulfill meeting assignments;
  • To provide fellow members with helpful, constructive evaluations;
  • To help the Club maintain the positive, friendly environment necessary for all members to learn and grow;
  • To serve my Club as an officer when called upon to do so;
  • To treat my fellow Club members and our guests with respect and courtesy;
  • To bring guests to Club meetings so they can see the benefits Toastmasters membership offers;
  • To adhere to the guidelines and rules for all Toastmasters educational and recognition programs;
  • To maintain honest and highly ethical standards during the conduct of all Toastmasters activities.

Our Purpose

Millennium Toastmasters is devoted to helping people improve their oral communication and leadership skills through a supportive and positive learning environment. Members follow a comfortable, systematic approach to developing skills one step at a time. Whether you are a professional, student, stay-at-home parent, or retiree, Millennium Toastmasters may help you. Many members have lost their fear of public speaking and have learned additional skills to help them in their jobs and careers. Members become better listeners. They learn to lead teams and conduct meetings. They learn to give and receive constructive, helpful evaluations. The Toastmasters program enhances whatever skill level members have initially.
 Benefits of Toastmasters

Through your membership, you will have opportunities to:
  • Learn and practice techniques of effective public speaking.
  • Prepare and deliver formal speeches on subjects of your choosing.
  • Give impromptu talks on assigned tasks.
  • Gain speaking experience that relates to specific career needs.
  • Sharpen you listening/evaluation skills.
  • Learn proper parliamentary procedure.
  • Preside as a meeting chairman.
  • Gain valuable leadership management experience.
  • Gain personal confidence that will help when speaking to one person or one thousand.
