How to Join Cub Scouts and Pack 154

A boy can join Cub Scouts and Pack 154 at any time of the year.  We invite boys and their families to join us at a Pack or Den meeting, or for one of our outdoor activities.  Our Pack and Den Leaders as well as our Scouts and their families would be glad to talk with you about Pack 154, Cub Scouts, and the Scouting program.

When you join Cub Scouts, you will pay a registration fee of up to $16 (it depends on what time of year you join).  If you are transferring from another Cub Scout Pack, the Pack will pay the $1 transfer fee.  After registering, the priority purchase for the new Scout is the handbook for the rank (Tiger Cub, Wolf, Bear, Webelos) the Cub Scout will be working on.  For new Cub Scouts joining at the beginning of the school year, the uniform is not needed until the Cub-Parent Campout in October.  More details on the Cub Scout uniform can be found in the handbook and from the Den Leaders.

Financial assistance to defray the cost for registration, handbooks, uniforms, and some activities is available to families in need through the BSA “Friends of Scouting” funding program.  Please talk with the Cubmaster to begin the confidential application process.  Cost will not be a barrier-EVERY boy deserves the opportunity to experience Scouting!

There is an annual registration renewal fee, but that is paid for by the Pack through the proceeds of the annual Trails End Popcorn sale.  The popcorn sale takes place at the beginning of the Scout Year from the end of August through October.  It is the primary fundraising activity and the proceeds should pay for most (ideally, all) of the costs of the Pack’s activities and programs.  All families are expected to participate in the popcorn sale and a target sales amount per Scout is established each year.

If you are interested in joining Cub Scouts and Pack 154, please send us an e-mail via the Contact box on the bottom of the home page.  Be sure to include an e-mail address or phone number.  One of our leaders will be in touch soon to answer your questions!
