WHAT WE DO
When you or your loved one needs an angel right away, RAFS is here to help. Our Mission is to "provide physical, emotional and social care to elderly and disabled adults and children, especially residents of impoverished and rural areas". We serve disabled adults and children and elderly persons ages 60 and older that live in Richland, Lexington, Clarendon and Sumter Counties. RAFS supplements Medicaid and Medicare benefits to enable seniors and disabled persons to remain in the home. Our aim is to deliver services with caring sincerity that warms the heart and renews well-being for the indigent and non-insured. There is no charge for our services, which are made possible by grants and donations. Contributions are gratefully accepted, however! Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to RAFS today. Everyone needs an angel eventually.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
To be eligible for RAFS' services, a person must:

be 60 years of age or older or classifed as disabled by the Social Security Administration

be a resident of South Carolina

meet eligibility requirements and annual assistance guidelines

have a medical condition that puts them at risk of having to enter a nursing home or other institution

have large medical expenses in proportion to their income(if otherwise ineligible

SERVICES WE OFFER

Given that funds are available, Rest Assured Family Services (RAFS) provides:

Advocate Services: Speak to other agencies on client’s behalf to obtain services and benefits to which they may be entitled, such as income assistance, health coverage, or housing.

Case Management & Counseling: Assist clients who need various services in order to remain at home; provide referrals for crisis and emergency needs. Use casework mode to relate to client (via interview, discussion or lending a sympathetic ear) to advise and enable clients to resolve problems.

Emergency Home Repair & Energy Assistance: Provide critically needed home repairs, modifications and alterations. Grant Financial aid in the event of home energy emergency.

Transportation: Provide personalized, escorted transportation to various destinations in Richland and Lexington Counties through our Angel on the Go program.

Material Aid: Purchase food or goods such as clothing, smoke detectors, eyeglasses, hearing aids, security devices, appliances, etc. through our CareCash Fund.

Shopping Assistance: Provide Transportation to and from stores; help with shopping on behalf of a client including proper selection of items to purchase; and store purchased items upon return to client's home.

Nursing & Medical Care: Provide private duty RN services offering full range of comprehensive care to eligible clients who have difficulty visiting a doctor; offer medication evaluation and management; and facilitate nursing home diversion through clinical stabilization, all through our Healthcare Housecalls Program.
