Welcome to the RIVERBLUFF MOPS Webpage
This is the place where you can keep up with everything that is going on. MOPS International exists to encourage, equip and develop every mother of preschoolers to realize her potential as a woman, mother and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. Riverbluff MOPS exists to do this in the North Charleston area. Thank you for visiting our site. We hope you find encouragement and enjoyment.

Who is ready to spend some quality time with your family, kids and friends and raise money for our MOPS group at the same time?

Who is ready to tell your family and friends about MOPS and what it really means to you, and let them share in your joy?

WHO IS READY FOR THE GREAT MOM'S WALK???

Saturday, April 26 at Wannamaker Park. We will discuss this more at the next meeting. We will set our personal fund-raising goals so that we will be able to ensure that our wonderful MOPPETS workers are compensated for keeping our children happy during our meetings, so that we have fun and creative crafts to do during our meetings, and so that we can continue to have the great end of year Banquet that we so look forwart do.

Leann Davenport is our go-to lady for this event, and she will have more information for you. If you already have a green shirt from years past, get it out and get it ready. We will have order info for those who need a new shirt. Let's get excited for this fun event!!

One Tough Mother
Our next meeting will be on February 22. If you ever feel like your children don't like you or that you don't laugh enough in your family, it's time to come listen to Julie Barnhill encourage you to straighten up, take back control and become one tough mother!

We will be listening to Julie's talk from the MOPS International Convention on CD AND making Just In Case Cases (craft) at the same time. You don't want to miss this meeting. Only One Tough Mothers can multi-task, and I'm sure you're all up to the challenge.

Upcoming Events You Don't Want To Miss
These are some of the fun activities and classes that are coming up at The River starting in the next few days and weeks. Contacts are following the class.

First Place 4 Health
If you are interested in becoming more fit and healthy in 2008, this is the beginning point for you. The 12 week class begins Wednesday, February 6, and will be held from 10:15-11:30am or 6:30-8:00pm. If you are interested, attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, January 23 at 7:00pm (rm 102).
Contact Vicki Heath at vicki@firstplace.org for more information.

Ladies Tea
The Women's Ministry at Riverbluff is sponsoring a Tea on >Saturday, May 8. We will have more information at the next meeting, but save the date! I do know that there will be tea, and sweet treats, and we'll be drinking from and eating off of real china! That's a reason to come, right?
Contact person is Kris Stewart, our wonderful mentor.

  MOPS Leadership Summit

We will be hosting at our church, and it's open to all MOPS members who are on steering or who are interested in being on steering next year. We'll also need volunteers to help with hospitality functions such as setting up in the morning, serving coffee, helping serve lunch, etc. CHILDCARE will be provided for our children ONLY for women helping out and our moms attending IF NEED BE, and will need to be reserved in advance.

This is an excellent way to receive MOPS training without leaving our own church, and at a reduced cost from convention. If you think you might EVER want to be on a MOPS steering team, or any other leadership team, this is something that you would benefit from.

We will also be decorating several rooms to go along with the MOPS theme of The Home Factor. Please think about which room your table would like to decorate and come up with ideas to make it special. We'll discuss at an upcoming meeting. This is a great way for Riverbluff MOPS to minister to the other groups in South Carolina.
