RSVP & Stages of Hatters ![]() PLEASE READ & REMEMBER Very-Very-Very IMPORTANT Please read this and remember it EVERY TIME You are invited to a RED HAT EVENT There is a reason for asking for the RSVP The Hostess needs to know how many ladies she needs to prepare for at any event. Mark your calendar as soon as you are invited! The RSVP DATE is IMPORTANT too! A simple YES or NO and the money sent in, if required, by the deadline is all that is asked of you. Many time the Hostess needs to give the exact number attending the event to the place where the event is taking place. If you have to pay in advance, please send your money in by the deadline. Many times we have had to pay for ladies that said they were attending and they never showed up. We Will No Longer Do This! In the future, if we do not hear from you by the deadline date, we WILL NOT call to remind you. You may miss out on some really fun things and it will be Your Own Fault!
Four Levels of Red and Pink Hatters – What Is Your Level?
Within most RHS Chapters, there seems to be 4 Levels of involvement: Level 1 – “Highly Involved” – not only do they wear colors but enjoy gaudying and glitzing up – they wear hats - attend area & national conventions – RSVP on time - corresponds with ladies in other chapters – collects anything red & purple – and enjoy talking about the RHS. Level 2 – “Normally Involved” – wears colors – has fun – RSVP on time – may or may not enjoy talking about the RHS Level 3 – “Barely Involved” – wears colors but doesn’t really like to (wears them only because they have to) – doesn’t wear hats or purple at times – waits until the last minute to RSVP. Level 4 – “Don’t Know Why They Bother” – won’t wear a hat – won’t RSVP – has to be called & reminded of gatherings. The following can happen: Some of “Level 2” ladies after a few gatherings get all excited and really blossom into glorious red/pink hatters – it just takes them a little time to gaudy up. With “Level 3” a few may blossom – the most we can expect from them is to grow into being “Level 2”. Talking with these ladies about RSVP on time may or may not work. That leaves “Level 4” – These ladies either aren’t ready for the RHS – going through something at this time – or they are just the sort of woman that is not happy and will never be happy no matter what they do. There may be hope for “Level 3” but no hope for “Level 4’s” – they seem to drop out after a while. All said and done – there is only so much we can do with some women. We can plan fun and exciting gatherings and lead by personal example BUT we can not dress them – keep calling them about reservations – hold their hand, pamper them or spoon feed them fun and silliness. |
