SCQC Santee Cooper Region

The SCQC, an official chapter of the Red Hat Society, was founded to further the spread of RED and promote SISTERHOOD throughout the state of South Carolina. To assist in this spread, the state was divided into regions according to the tourism map and each region has a coordinator to keep that regions Queens and Vice Queens involved and informed.

The Santee Cooper Region includes Berkeley, Calhoun, Claredon, Orangeburg, Sumter, Barnwell, Allendale, Bamburg and Colleton Counties. If you live in one of these counties you are part of the Santee Cooper Region. We are one of largest areas in size, but we are small in chapter numbers. With the mission to spread the Red our numbers will grow.

Please contact me if you should have any questions or concerns at 843-906-6321 or email me at pkhogan@msn.com Please put Santee-Cooper Red Hat in subject line.

The next Regional Meeting will be hosted by the Lake Marion Royal Rubies of SC. Date will be Jan/Feb and will be announced shortly.

Prayer List

Please put the following Red Hat ladies on your prayer list: Jackie Kelly, Vice-Queen, Lake Marion Royal Rubies, husband is having bypass surgery on Oct 23.

All the ladies who are suffering and recovering from cancer

I'm sure there are many Red Hatters who need prayers that I am unaware of, so please just say a prayer for all Red Hatters and their special needs, whether they are known to us or only to God.

  Chapter News

I'd like to extend a big Red Hat Welcome to the newest chapter in our region. The Sweet Carolines of Goose Creek obtained their charter July 31, 2008. Please wish them a great big Red Hat Howdy. More info will follow.

Pat Hogan

The Regional Coordinator ensures that the Region is kept up to date on the Red Hat events around the Region and the State, by ensuring that Reqional meetings are held quarterly and hosting Region Wide Red Hat Events. She attemps to visit as many of the chapters each year as she can.

She served 20 years in the Navy and retired in the Moncks Corner area in 1995.

She and Randy have been married for 28 years and have two children, and one granddaughter.
