The Presbytery Chairman has established a *FREE* Tele-Conference Account to have remote meetings. "I am asking all Presbytery Officers (State and District) to personally contact me to get instructions on how to use this system. This will reduce travel expense cost and travel time, allowing us to be more productive in our time management/utilization. It works real well. The State Trustee Board Members ran a test pilot of this system and it REALLY WORKS GOOD!!" Elder Isaac V. Cropp, Jr.
The State Trustee Board has installed a "Philips Onsite Defibrillator" (AED, Heartstart) at the Presbytery State Campground ASAP. Due to the distance our campground is from medical assistance, having this device to restart a heart that has stopped could save a life.
In addition, they are looking at a group proposal from the South Eastern Emergency Equipment Co. for reduced pricing to enable all Presbytery Congregations to purchase one for their churches. Additional information on this will be provided later to all Pastors, local church officers and congregations. For now your church can connect to the link below to get a demonstration of this device: http://www.personalizedwebportal.com/customer_CRS/custom.php?password=vnn-7~Gle~8781 Elder Isaac V. Cropp, Jr.
Dear Officers and Members of the SC Presbytery of the Church of God, The letter below is one that was sent out to you last year on February 12th, 2009; As a REMINDER I am sending it again to you, praying that as the Family of God here in South Carolina, we stay United in Faith and Works, that the Glory of God will rest upon us!
On behalf of the SC Presbytery of the Church of God Executive Council, and all the State Officials, I want to say THANKS for all the personal sacrifices and financial giving contributions (as well as your time and service) you made in the year 2009. In these difficult financial and busy times you remain constant in your giving back to God through Christian Ministry; May 2010 be a banner year for growth and blessing for the SC Presbytery of the Church of God members, family and friends. May our Faith and Works reach beyond our dreams and expectations!
I am excited about our serving in the bonds of Christian Love and Fellowship in this New Year God has blessed us to enter! I pray to see you at the appointed dates of our scheduled fellowship and business meetings in 2010.
February 12, 2009 Dear Pastors and Congregations,
Greetings, my Fellow Laborers. As we know our economic well-being as a nation is in crisis. We however, as a people of God know that our hope is not in man or money, but in our Lord, Jesus Christ. That being said, however, we are not oblivious to the fact that it takes money to subsist. It is in this vain that we pen this letter to you.
Records dating back to the 1920’s reflect the South Carolina Presbytery’s dependency on each local congregation for its finances. This remains true to date. Our state budget is based solely on contributions from local congregations. In recent years we have seen our finances decrease annually. It is our hope that we can long exist as the State Presbytery, but for that to occur we need your renewed commitment.
The Executive council met recently. During that meeting a financial model was presented that is currently used (very effectively) by one of our sister congregations. A copy of the model is attached.
The Executive Council has approved and endorsed the model that we are asking each congregation to adopt to alleviate the financial stress we are experiencing at the state level. We ask that you prayerfully study this model, adjust it to fit your local congregation and initiate it, if possible, by March 1, 2009. With your financial support we will continue to be able to take care of state business in a timely manner.
Upon your congregations’ approval of this model we are asking that a specific person be designated to ensure the funds are collected and reported to the State Financial Secretary in a timely manner. The title we are recommending for this person is “State Liaison”. Please send the name of this person to the State Secretary, Juanita Martin. We pledge to you our integrity with all monies received. If you have questions or need further clarification, please contact our State Chairman, Pastor Isaac Cropp, Jr..
