On November 6 and 7, 2009, Troop 3285 went out and hosted a concession stand at another USC Equestrian Event in Columbia. At the event, several well-known equestrians from around the country came to strut their stuff in a horse show, where they were judged based on their control of the horse, ability to brush off loss, and memory of the course. The girls in the show have to memorize their course from a sheet of paper and they have to know all the jumps they have to perform, if they are in the jumping portion of the show. Each girl is given an unofficial score, which is added to the overall score of their team. The team as a whole is then judged based on their scores, and a winner is declared. All the girls in the show are currently in college. Here is some information about the girls in the Equestrian Event, for your reading pleasure:


Alex Arute

Alex Arute is a freshman from Avon, Connecticut; in high school, she ranked eighth overall in the Bates Equitation Rankings and eighth ranking in the USEF High Junior Jumpers category.


Carly Babcock

Carly Babcock is a senior from Deer Harbor, Washington, who in the 2008-2009 season served her first year as a regular and went undefeated in the regular season in equitation and had two MVP rides.


Amy Biffle

Amy Biffle is a senior from Orange Grove, Texas. In the 2008-2009 season, she earned MVP honors in horsemanship with a score of 77 at the University of Tennessee at Martin.


Captain Emily Bookwalter

Emily Bookwalter, the captain of the Equestrian team, is a senior from Fillmore, Indiana. In the 2008-2009 season she competed regularly for the first time and was a member of the S.E.C. and VENC teams.


Nicole Bourgeois

Nicole Bourgeois, a senior from Sherwood, Oregon, competed in 14 events in equitation over fences with two MVP rides during the 2008-2009 season.


Tilden Brighton

Tilden Brighton is a freshman from Rumson, New Jersey. During high school, she won every equitation class at least once at the Wellington Horse Show in 2008.


Jeanette Collins

Jeanette Collins is a freshman from Greenville, South Carolina. In high school, she won the 2008 Governor’s Cup Final. She qualified for the Maclay Regionals in 2007 and 2008.


Hannah Coviello

Hannah Coviello is a freshman from San Juan Capistrano, California. In high school, she was the two-time AQHA Youth Sun and Surf Circuit Champion.


Paige Dekko

Paige Dekko, a sophomore in Naples, Florida, opened her collegiate career with an 86-72 win against Kansas State in the 2008-2009 season.


Elizabeth Fagan

Elizabeth Fagan is a freshman from Danvers, Massachusetts. In high school, she was named the 2007 European Appaloosa Champion.


Maggie Fortune

Maggie Fortune is a sophomore from Hartford, Connecticut. She earned an MVP honor in her first collegiate competition when she defeated Kansas State’s own Laura Browne.


Alex Foster

Alexandra Foster is a junior from Augusta, Georgia. In the 2008-2009 season, she competed in two events in equitation over fences and earned a 75-69 win against Sacred Heart.


Kayla Gamble

Kayla Gamble is a freshman from Hillard, Ohio. In 2009 while in high school Kayla was named IEA national champion in horsemanship.


Chloe Gray

Chloe Gray is a junior from Tampa,Florida. In 2007 was ranked Number 1 rider in Florida Reining Horse Assocciation youth 14-18.


Sara Green

Sara Green is a freshman from Sherbon, Mass. In 2006, led the country in Small Junior championship. She was named the Junior Hunter Finals champion.


Alex Haskell

Alex Haskell is a senior from Cincinnati,Ohio. She was ranked among the top 100 US riders on the Bates Equitation ranking list, Kentucky Equitation Champion and Kentucky Medal Finals Champion.


Colvin Hedgepath

Colvin Hedgepath is a sophomore from Beaverdam, Virginia. She is the 2007 HITS Culpepper Older Children’s Circuit Champion


Logan Holler

Logan Holler is a freshman from Columbia, South Carolina. She was named the 2008 Palmetto Medal Finals Champion.


Audrey Jewell

Audrey Jewell is a freshman from Monroe, Georgia. She was 2005-08 Georgia Regional Champion in Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle and Huntseat Equitation.


Eleanor Kunsman

Eleanor Kunsman is a senior from Flemington, New Jersey. In 2007 was Individual Collegiate America National Riding Commission Champion.


Megan Massaro

Megan Massaro is a senior from Summerfield, Florida. In 2008-09 had one the strongest seasons in Gamecock history en route to a 22-4-3 overall record.


Kimberly McCormack

Kimberly McCormack is a freshman from Clermont, New Jersey. 2007 USEF Medal Finals and Maclay Finals National Champion p>


Annie Laurie McDonald

Annie Laurie McDonald is a sophomore from Maiden, Virginia. In 2008-09 went 1-2 in reining with a 72-68.5 win against Sacred Heart.


Melissa Mull

Melissa Mull is a freshman from Burke, Virginia. Finished Top 10 at AQHA Congress in 2005, named the Region 15 reining champion. Was a world qualifier.


Amanda Pope

Amanda Pope is a freshman from Portal, Georgia. 2006 Georgia State FFA Western and Overall Champion


Abbey Rohde

Abbey Rohde is a junior from Alpharetta, Georgia. In 2008-09 defeated Sacred Heart’s Julie Law 78-60 in equitation over fences. Finished the year with a 1-1 record. Named to SEC Academic Honor Roll


Lydia Roof

Lydia Roof is a junior from Lexington, South Carolina. A top returner in reining, went 6-5 in regular season and finished with an 8-8 record.


Taylor Singmaster

Taylor Singmaster is a sophomore from Lansdale, Pennsylvania. In 2007 NYATT Western Pleasure Champion and National Snaffle Bit Association Non-Pro Maturity Western Pleasure Champion.


Kelsey Stangebye

Kelsey Stangebye is a freshman from Geneva, Illinois. In 2009 qualified for the American Quarter Horse Youth Association in horsemanship, showmanship and pleasure. In 2008 Gold Coast Circuit Champion


Katie Stenberg

Katie Stenberg is a senior from Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Is a captain on the team. In 2008-09 went 1-2 over fences with a 72-70 win at Sacred Heart.


Hailey Thorton

Hailey Thornton is a junior from Mishawaka, Indiana. In the middle of 2008-09 season had a 5 match undefeated streak.


Sarah Ward

Sarah Ward is freshman from Atlanta, Georgia. In 2008 named Grand Junior Hunter Champion at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show.


Kyla West

Kyla West is a freshman from Carmel Valley, California. In 2008 won NorCal Junior Jumper Division and Low Junior Jumper in Region ll
