Shelter News Straight from the Hampton Street Newspress March 5,2003 ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END Recently, there has been much talk about the closing of the Hampton Street Winter Shelter. One rumor is that we will close this week or maybe on the 15th or maybe... To dispel all misconceptions and put minds to rest, the shelter will remain open until the end of March. We have leased the property until March 30 and the shelter will open as usual on the nights that the temperature is forecased to be 39 derrees or below. As to the future of the shelter, there are no definite plans for opening in the summer or even where the shelter will be next winter,BUT....for those interested in helping the dream of a year round day shleter for those on the streets, let's meet and talk about how to realize the dream. On the next night that the shelter is o[pen, there will be a meeting in the TV lounge to discuss ideas, strategies, resources etc. all who are serious abvout making chage and really taking responsibility for their lives and futures are welcome |
