History

Women Helping Others Ministries (W.H.O.) was organized in June 1994 by Min. Susie H. Cobb. It is an organization where people from various walks of life can come and be encouraged and uplifted, especially hurting and abused women.

Min. Cobb heard the voice of the Lord in July 1993 commissioning her to start a ministry to uplift women. But she hesitated to move on it. And then she was elected as president of the Christian Women Fellowship (CWF) within her denomination in October 1993. Min. Cobb put forth all effort to lead the Christian Women Fellowship, and she put the vision in the back of her mind....

During her tenure as President of the CWF, it was finally confirmed, after much prayer and meditation, that she should go forth with this ministry. It was introduced through a seminar in November 1994. And then because she was so involved with the Christian Women Fellowship, Min. Cobb put this ministry on hold. After her tenure ended as CWF president, Min. Cobb again heard from the Lord and decided that she had better be obedient. It was then that she restarted this ministry through a seminar held on January 1997 in Lugoff, SC.

During the year, Min. Cobb held various seminars for women in Columbia, SC, Lugoff, SC, Bishopville, SC and Kinston, NC. Many lives were changed through these seminars and many women shared their pain and joy.

Women Helping Others held its first 2-day conference on January 30-31, 1998, entitiled Empowered, Reassured, Affirmed...They Follow Jesus. Over sixty women were in attendance and the Spirit of the Lord flowed freely as various speakers expounded on the Word of God. Min. Cobb's desire is that God be glorified and His kingdom extended through this Ministry.
