Open House is scheduled for August 28th at 5:30pm. Open House always starts off with a brief PTO meeting so that you can learn about us and what we do for the school.
The Nashville Ronald McDonald House (RMH) became an important part of Mrs. Karen Hackett's life 5 years ago when her husband and herself made it thier "Home Away from Home." They stayed there for 3 months while thier precious son, Jordon, was in Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. After Jordan passed away, they became supporters of the RMH. It's a home for 32 families with critically ill children and is run solely on donations. One of it's major fundraising efforts is recycling pull-tabs from aluminum cans.
Beginning in September, CES will participate in a mid-state pull-tab contest for the RMH. Last year, we came in second place out of 45 schools. Hopefully, with your help, this year we can be #1!!!
Please begin saving your pull-tabs, and send them in. There is a pull-tab tub just outside of Mrs. Karen Hackett's room. Thank you in advance for pulling for RMH!

Earn CES Extra Money...
Let's Raise A Lot of Money in 2007/2008
|
| |
We are in the last days of Box Top Collecting. Please send in all the Box Tops that you have so we can see if we exceeded last year's numbers. Send to Mrs. Shores as soon as you can. We appreciate your support. The clock is running out!
We have an extensive list of parents that we email on a regular basis just to remind you of events that are happening at CES. If you are interested in adding your email info to our list, or if you need to update your current parent file, please email me at the bottom of the page. Your email information is never shared with anyone. You will receive emails before PTO Meetings, before due dates, Owl Prowl information, etc. Never junk email!! Never Forget | |
We need many volunteers throughout the school year. We know that most of you are NOT stay at home moms and dads. Every little minute will help CES. If you have an hour to help your childs teacher, please do so. They will appreciate you more than you will ever know.
 Leave Your Footprints Behind...
If you look in the hallways at CES, you can see the footprints of many dedicated parents. You can leave your footprints behind as well! All you have to do is volunteer a minimum of 6 hours!! That's 6 hours all year! Many of you know that there are many sets of foot prints going towards the library! We would love to see MORE this year! Our PTO Walk-of-Fame is featured in August's PTOtoday Magazine. I am very execited to have something that I posted on www.ptotoday.com published!! Because my topic was published the PTO will receive a $50.00 check from PTOtoday!!!

It's A Joy to Volunteer
I’ve been blessed with gifts and talents
To be used some special way.
To lend a hand or help someone
Who’s struggling day by day.
All it costs is my commitment
And a little extra caring.
While making a priority
Of reaching out and sharing.
And it’s a privilege working
For the causes I hold dear.
Just doing what I can to help
Each time I volunteer.
