Shuptrine Fine Art Group 2646 Broad Street, Chattanooga, TN 37408
Our website received an email (on 10-31-07) from Kathryn Dunn, Marketing Communications Manager for Shuptrine Fine Art Group, (located in the Broad Street Design District). This business specializes in fine art, custom framing, and antique restorations, and are especially famous for projects featuring gilding. They renovated their historical (from 1901!) building's store front and had a Grand Re-Opening Celebration during November, 2007. They are interested in hosting social groups for seminars and art shows, and thought our Red Hat chapters might be interested in having teas, luncheons, or gatherings in their gallery! Check out the Shuptrine Fine Art Group link in the "friends" area under links on our home page for a look at their arts. You may call Kathryn at 423-266-4453 for more information about setting up a group gathering!

Cafe' Francais 6313 East Brainerd Rd. Chattanooga Reservations: 423-718-0745
I got a very nice letter from Betsy Chesney, the pianist at Cafe' Francais, telling me about the restaurant, which is in the Brainerd Hills Shopping Center across from Wesley Methodist Church. This is from their web-blog:
"Evelyne Putman is a native of La Rochelle, France, on the Atlantic coast. She's open Tuesday through Friday for lunch; evenings for the seven-course French meal are by reservation. Eve likes to take your order by phone when you reserve and then go to the market the day of your dinner to ensure the freshest possible food for you. Most guests are groaning by the time the fourth course arrives, and Mme. Putman just keeps bringing the food! Don't fill up on her French bread and exquisite butter too soon! Choices, choices: Seven-course French meals can have as entrees salmon, rabbit (lapin), duck, or chicken cordon bleu for $37.99, a great deal for the money. An entree of bouillabaisse or Chateaubriand (steak with flaming brandy) is $39.99. Don't miss her positively decadent Chambord cake; it has chocolate frosting with Chambord or French raspberry liqueur. You can buy a whole cake, too, or get her to make a Boston cream pie with that frosting. Unbelievable! Take along your favorite wine."
The food sounds YUMMY! (And during dinner, Betsy plays movie themes, classical tunes, standards, and a little country!) Call your Red Hat Sisters together if you want to experience an authentic 7 course dining delight. P.S: Lunchtime dessert is free on your Birthday!!
