The Cherokee Chapter of IAAP (then known as National Secretaries Association) was organized in 1965 with 16 charter members. IAAP is an international organization and is the world's premier association for administrative professionals. Members come from many different backgrounds and professions such as administrative assistants, executive assistants, secretaries, receptionists, clerks, information specialists, and office managers. Throughout the year, members may attend not only monthly chapter meetings but also the Tennessee Division Annual Meeting and the International Convention and Education Forum.
Education and professional development are our focus. IAAP is the sole sponsor of the Certified Professional Secretary® (CPS) and Certified Administrative Professional® (CAP) programs. These exams are administered in May and November. The CPS and CAP are the industry-recognized mark of excellence. The Cherokee Chapter sponsors an annual educational and professional development seminar and assists with various civic activities through the year. Chapter members also have the opportunity to network with business leaders, educators, and other professional associations in our area. The Cherokee Chapter meets the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Welcome Center at Life Care Centers of America corporate office complex on Keith Street. A professional and education program is presented at each meeting and guests are always welcome. Chapter "hostesses" provide refreshments. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
