Welcome to MOPS At Hilldale Baptist Church!
MOPS stands for Mothers Of Preschoolers, a program designed to nurture mothers with children from infancy through Kindergarten. Expectant moms are welcome too! We are so glad you are visiting our site. We hope you find information and inspiration here. We are a new group of Moms dedicated to meeting the needs of every mother of preschoolers. Moms need Moms! They need to know they are not alone--that there are other mothers facing challenges, loneliness, and heartfelt desire to be the best mom they can possibly be. Moms matter at Hilldale, so we are extending an invitation to you to come enjoy crafts, food, encouraging speakers, discussion and christian fellowship with us twice a month and be uplifted and appreciated as a mother. Everyone needs a break, right? A mother's job never ends...there's no time off, lunch break, time clock to clock out. So, come take a break & do something for yourself! Your children will be lovingly cared for in MOPPETS while you enjoy the meeting. We, the Steering Team, are excited about bringing MOPS to Hilldale! This year's theme,"The HOME factor" promises to be helpful, exciting, and fun!

Come learn to DWELL WELL as a Mother of a Preschooler...
*Experience a renewed HEART for God.
*Be encouraged and equipped in building a strong HOME foundation.
*Explore how to launch compassionate people into the global community to change lives around the PLANET.
The heart of the HOME is also a picture of God's desire to interact with us and deeply love us where we really live. He desires to make his home in our hearts. He expresses it this way in the theme verse:
"...He lives with you and will be in you." John 14:17
Three key elements of this theme to explore throughout the year:
*our homes are where we bond, cocoon, build inwardly
*our homes are where we refuel so that we can live fully in this world beyond
*our homes are a picture of Jesus' dwelling within us.

The NEW MOPS International theme for 2008-2009 is Adventures in Mothering
This theme equips moms to learn more about themselves as they go through the adventure of motherhood. We will celbrate and embrace the fun in the experiences, even in the midst of daily mom life that stretches us emotionally and spiritually. The knowledge that God is with us on the mothering adventure give hope. God's love is big enough for the magnitude of the adventure!

The purpose of MOPS is to nurture every mother of preschoolers by meeting her distinct needs to the glory of Jesus Christ. MOPS exists for every Mom--stay-at-home moms, working moms, single Moms, Teenage Moms, and married Moms.
MOPS is about...
-Celebrating motherhood
-Meeting needs
-Making connections
-Experiencing God's love
...through relationships and resources.
You don't have to do mothering alone. Whether you need a friend to compare stories with, a shoulder to lean on, or ideas to help you be a better mom-Hilldale MOPS is just the place. Experience warmth and shared wisdom from other moms, not all the same age, lifestyles or backgrounds, but all with a shared desire to be the best mothers they can be.

Sunday, May 11—Mother’s Day & MOPS Sunday
We will promote MOPS at Hilldale on Mother’s Day by having an information table set up. We'll also be showing a video of our MOPS group during worship service! You might see yourself on the big screen!

MOPS Summer Activities Start!
Friday, May 23--Trip to the Nashville ZOO! Meet at the entrance at 9:00am. Admission is $13 for adult, $8 for ages 3-12, and FREE for under 3.
Sunday, May 25--Hilldale Baptist Church & 88.3 WAY-FM present Rebecca St. James in concert at 6:00pm for the Family Life Center Grand Opening on Old Farmer's Rd. Come join us!
Monday, May 26—Memorial Day

June 2-6 VBS at Hilldale! Come ride the waves on Outrigger's Island with us! Ages 4 (by Sept. 2008) -5th grade will know, speak, and live God's truth aloha style!
