MOPPETS are Special!

Your children will be lovingly cared for in our MOPPETS program which is staffed by teachers and volunteers. All childcare workers & volunteers are screened to insure your children's safety. During the MOPS meetings, your child will enjoy songs, crafts, games, and activities based on their age group. The children are able to grow socially & creatively while interacting with other children. Kids love MOPPETS as much as mothers love MOPS!

Moppets Guidelines Procedures for 2009-2010
Thank you for the opportunity to hug and love your little ones! The following policies must be followed in order to make everyone’s day special.

Sign in your child at the Preschool desk and make any notes needed for your child on the sign-in sheet.
• You may check your child into his/her classroom beginning at 9:15am. You will be given a pager. The pager will vibrate if you are needed.
• Bring and pick up your child at their classroom door.
• Pick up your child immediately at the close of each session unless the teacher is notified beforehand. Some children become anxious if she/he is left after other children have gone.
• All blankets, diaper bags, coats, etc. must be clearly labeled with your child’s name. Many bottles look alike.
• Bottles brought will be given according to mom's instructions. Please mark all bottles and bring only plastic bottles.
• Provide disposable diapers when your child is at MOPS. Bring enough diapers and a change of clothes.
• If your child is potty training, please have them wear pull-ups while at MOPS. Children often “forget” when they are busy, and some of our MOPPETS rooms are carpeted and not very forgiving of accidents.
• Moms, please refrain from checking on your child during our meeting. It is upsetting if they see you; we will page you if you are needed.
• Due to safety, please bring a labeled drink cup and small snack for each child. We have some peanut allergies, so please refrain from bringing anything with peanut butter in it. Thank you.
• As a courtesy to the other moms, we ask that only babies 4 months or younger be allowed to attend MOPS meetings if needed. MOPS is a time for all moms to relax, and crying babies prevent that. Nursing moms are welcome to nurse during our MOPS meetings or we also have a nursing room located in the preschool dept.
• Caregivers shall use positive methods of Christian discipline, which encourage the development of self-control, self-direction, self esteem, and cooperation.
• Please do not bring toys from home; mix-ups are likely.

All MOPS members will have a standing reservation in MOPPETS for your children. However, please be courteous and call the MOPPETS director, Billi Metz, at 931-220-3193 if you cannont attend a meeting.

Sick Child Guidelines

Please do not bring a child to MOPS who has displayed the following symptoms within the last 24 hours:
1. a temperature of 100 degrees or higher
2. has vomited or has had diarrhea
3. a runny nose with green or yellow mucus
4. has been exposed to a contagious condition (chicken pox, head lice, pink eye, etc.)

Please secure a note from your child's doctor if he/she has a chronic condition such as allergic rhinitis, which is not contagious but may resemble a cold or infection. If your child is being treated for an infection, he/she should be on antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to MOPPETS.

No medication of any kind will be administered by a caregiver. If your child needs a medication, it must be kept and administered when needed by the mom.

Remember the Golden Rule of "Sick Day Decisions"--would you want your child sitting next to another child with the same symptoms...?
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our MOPPETS classrooms a safe & healthy environment. Please direct any further question to our MOPS Coordinator.
