They’ll really add to our Summer Reading Program and Story Hour! Hope to see you there! Zack & Zoe can’t wait to make plans and get started!

Regional Libraries to Be Downsized
Recently, the State of Tennessee concluded study of the operations of Regional Library across the state. It has been decided that the library system will be downsized and some services will be eliminated. In order for several book stations in Anderson County to continue to receive books, the Clinch Powell Regional Library has asked each county library to assume the task of supplying books to area day care centers and nursing homes. Lake City Library will provide books to Dutch Valley Head Start, Lake City Head Start Center, Lake City Early Learning, and Summit View Nursing Home. Last week, we discussed what the Friends Of The Library could do to help everyone ‘Keep on Reading’. Volunteers will be needed, let us know if you are willing to help.

Friends to Host Chamber Of Commerce Breakfast March 8, 2011 8-9:30
We are very pleased to be hosting this event in March! Friends have always shown Chamber Of Commerce breakfast attendees what a celebration breakfast can be! We are really looking forward to hosting this event and seeing everyone there.

Friends Participate in VITA
(Volunteer Income Tax Assistance)
Every year, the volunteers at the Lake City Library file taxes for hundreds of citizens for FREE. As the cost of tax preparation continues to rise, this service is used by more and more people. The turn-around time between filing and receiving a refund is quick. Tell your friends and family about this service and make an appointment soon. Taking appointments: January 25th-April 18th Between 10AM-5PM Mon-Friday & 9:30AM-1PM Saturday
National Library Week
National Library Week is celebrated April 10-16 So get your thinking caps on of a great way to celebrate.

Library Beautification
We’ll be landscaping in April. Spring is only a couple more months away. Let us know what days would be best for you; we'll pick a time and day soon.

Summer Reading Planning
