Not only do we buy items considered too glitzy or too fancy-We actually get to wear them. ACCESSORIZE!!! ACCESSORIZE!!!

All the sparkly over the top clothing: now you not only get to wear it, you are REQUIRED to wear it.

Red speaks of life, excitement, vigor and celebration. Color of passion, roses, lifeblood. To the Chinese red symbolizes happiness.
In theater red is associated with comedy and purple with tradedy. Most of us have had both in our life so we have earned the right to wear them.
Red hats symbolize confidence, self acceptance, joy, pride, and so many things to us. WE SHOULD WEAR ONE AT ALL TIMES.

HATS ON!! Find a red hat any red hat and embellish it.

    SASSY: Lively and spirited; stylish, chic; jaunty (having a self-confident air). adj.
    REDUATION: Ceremony for becoming a Red Hatter. Moving from a Pink Hatter to Red on THE BIRTHDAY!
    CORONATION: Ceremony for the crowning of new members
    KAZOODLE: A large group of Red and/or Pink Hatters.
    BUBBLES: Blown by Red & Pink Hatters at gatherings for celebration, in place of appllause or just because we want to!
    MASCOTS: Person, animal, or object believed to bring good luck. Especially one kept as the symbol of an organization. There are dolls, bears, dogs, birds, pigs everything & anything you could imagine!


    HATQUARTERS: The main office of the Red Hat Society in Fullerton, California.
    DESSERT FIRST: Since the ladies gather for fun, frolic & laughter, it only makes sense that the scrumptious dessert should be eaten first! After all, we deserve it!
    BRIM BRUSHING: Allowing our hat brims to brush lighty with a gentle hug, in genteel fashion.
    AIR KISSING: Accompaniment to brim brushing. And we are oh so genteel when doing that, as well.


    REGALIA: Magnificent attire; finery. The distinguishing symbols of a rank, office, order, or society.
    GATHERINGS: We do not hold "meetings"...the word is too stuffy and sounds to orderly. The words gatherings, get-togethers, events or activities are preferred.
    MALLGATING: Our favorite sport is Shopping. The Red Hatters have it's very own pre-game bash! Have a "mallgate" (tailgate) party before shopping.
      MUST-DO,s of Mallgating: 1.Do get the spirit. 2. Do have your mallgate party in a far corner of the parking lot so as not to hinder other shoppers. 3. Do use disposable dishes. 4. Do get a little crazy, but don't get out of control.


 RITUALS:
RED HAT SOCIETY DAY~ April 25th, the first get together of founding chapter was on April 25, 1998. There are usually special gatherings all over the country on this day!


OFFICIAL INSTRUMENT~ Kazoo~ The playing requires no musical talent and no practicing. Can be carried in purse and pulled out and played anywhere any time.


THE ROYAL WAVE~ Gesture for various occasions: when in a parade; acknowledging gawkers as we stroll by or to public events.

    Cup one hands, fingers held tightly together, and swivels ones wrist side to side. A gesture of great grace and elegance.
    Use to wave good-bye; to say hello; to acknowlede the crowds; to identify other Red Hatters when not in costume.


NATIONAL SPORT of Red Hat Society: SHOPPING...what else?

GIRLFRIEND'S DAY~ It is our Exalted Queen Mother Sue Ellen Cooper's Birthday! She turned 50 on July 22, 1994. Cards, Greetings and Gatherings are shared by Red and Pink Hatters on this day!
