The Vision Statement of Crew 506…

We will expand our horizons by engaging in activities that challenge us to explore and acquire new skills and knowledge to become leaders in our community. We will serve our community through projects voted on by the crew practicing newly learned skills and knowledge.

FUEL Service Project
FUEL is an ongoing community service project in which Venture Crew 506 participates in conjunction with New Providence United Methodist Church. Crew members assist in putting together materials that are delivered to members of our community.

Celebrated and provided the Scout Sunday service at NPUMC. Jerimiah did a great job as the liturgist, Seth and Anthony showcased their talents with the special music. Katy, Jazmine, Whitney and Darian provided the congragation with an excellant message through the Puppet Ministry. Andrew Gave a brief history of the program and the oath and vision statements. Roberto and Joey were our ushers. Cub Scout Pack 506 provided their services as acolytes(Brady, Mykel and Jordan)The Cub scout promise was recieted by Daniel, The girl scout promise by Vanessa and Will and Buddy from Troop 562 read a littany of scriptures and the Boy Scout Law. Thanks to all who helped!! Had lots of wisitors, We recognized Scouts from 8 differant units that were in attendance.

Winterfest Update... Had a great weekend in Gatlinburg. Spent Friday night and all day Saturday at Winterfest. Went to a dance after the opening ceromony Friday night and All day Saturday was spent competing against more than 2500 other Venturers and Explorers from 13 different states. Joey T. Brought home the 2nd place trophy for the NRA Air Rifle Competition, Roberto F. Held on to third place in the 30 ft. Prusik Climb, Wtih an amazing 58 seconds, 1st place was 57 seconds, 2nd place 57.5 seconds. Jazmine and Katy made it to the finals in the Caving Challenge. Katy finishing in 12th place in the squeeze box with 6 1/4" and Jazmine in 4th with 5 3/4" Spent Sunday morning up at Ober Gatlinburg checking things out for future trips. Road the Tram down the mountain and headed for home Just in time for the Super Bowl. Can't wait for next year to do it again.

We had an excelant joint crew campout at Rotary Park in October with Crew 536. Thanks to Mr. John and his crew for inviting us with them.

Went to the Rendevous at Boxwell in November. Through some hatchets, Shot skeet. Rappelled from the 60 ft. tower, had some short classes and fellowshiped with around 120 other venturers from the Middle TN council.
