Women's Health: Topic for AAUW February Meeting

AAUW Abilene Branch invites the public to learn more about women's health at its

February 18 meeting,

Abilene Country Club

10:30 a.m.


Guest speaker, Dr. Sandra Hazelip, will talk about senior health care issues for women. Dr. Hazelip is board certified in both Family and Geriatric Medicine and is the only geriatric physician in this region. She is also a 2011 Women of Outstanding Achievement Honoree, a community award recognition offered through the AAUW Abilene Branch. The program will be held at the Abilene Country Club and begins at 10:30 a.m. with a lunch to follow. Please call Pinnie Smith, AAUW membership co-chairperson at (325) 692-0741 to make your reservations. Branch members can pick up their yearbooks if they haven't already.

Fresh Start to New Year for Mothers and Daughters

AAUW Abilene Branch and the Alliance for Women and Children will sponsor a Mother and Daughter Fresh Start event. A new year is a fresh start for the mind, body and spirit. We invite middle school girls and their mothers to learn how to best set fitness and nutritional goals as well as personal and educational goals. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and last until 11:30 a.m. and will take place at the Alliance for Women and Children facility located at 1350 North 10th Street, Abilene. Please contact Ms. Elly Erwin at 677-5321 to make your reservation by January 19.
